Cthulhu is one of the rarest Everdawn creatures you can catch in Raise Animals. Unlike normal animals, he acts more like a mini-boss and requires surviving multiple attack waves before you even get a chance to capture him. Where Cthulhu Spawns
Cthulhu only appears in the final Everdawn biome. He does not spawn in earlier areas, so you must enter the deepest section of the biome before you can find him. Spawn Conditions:
- Spawns in the last Everdawn biome
- His appearance is random
- Acts as a special encounter, not a regular animal
Be prepared before entering, because the fight is very different from normal catches.
Cthulhu Fight Mechanics
Cthulhu disables all your passives the moment the fight begins. This means:
- No bonus dodge
- No catch boost
- No passive shields
- No extra survival perks
You enter the battle with only your base stats, so dodging becomes the most important skill. To unlock the chance to catch Cthulhu, you must survive three full attack waves. Each wave has its own pattern:
Wave 1 – Energy Balls
- Cthulhu launches energy balls at you. You’ll need to move constantly and watch the timing carefully to avoid getting hit.
Wave 2 – Liana Attacks
- Lianas (plant-like whips) strike from the ground or sides. These attacks are harder to predict, so keep moving in circles or diagonals.
Wave 3 – Combined Attacks
- The hardest wave — both energy balls and liana attacks hit at the same time. You must dodge everything until the wave ends. If you survive this, Cthulhu becomes catchable.
If you take damage or fail to dodge, the fight can end quickly, so staying focused is essential.
When Can You Catch Cthulhu?
After surviving all three waves:
- Cthulhu becomes weakened
- A catch prompt appears
- You can finally try to capture him
Your passes remain disabled during the catch attempt, so your chances depend on timing and the lasso you use. Using a stronger lasso (like the Unicorn Lasso during the update) helps a lot.
Tips to Make the Fight Easier
- Keep your movement steady instead of running randomly
- Practice dodging patterns in the Everdawn boss fight first
- Use a high-stability lasso to increase success during the catch
- Bring healing items before entering the biome
- Clear the area so nothing else interrupts the encounter
Cthulhu is designed to be one of the toughest creatures to obtain, so expect to retry a few times.
