Saving NPCs in Deadly Delivery is one of the most useful tasks you can do, especially if you want to unlock extra rewards and access new playable classes. Two of the most important NPCs you can rescue are Sam and Graves.

Both appear as special hostages, but their spawn rules, locations, and requirements work differently from regular hostage NPCs. This guide breaks down everything you need to know before rescuing them. Also check out our Deadly Delivery Codes for more rewards!

How Hostage NPCs Work in General

Hostage NPCs usually appear randomly on your runs. When you find one, interacting with them gives you a reward—normally 50 to 100 coins, depending on your luck. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can earn up to 200 coins from a single rescue. Regular hostages usually spawn in random rooms, but Sam and Graves follow special rules.

Sam – How to Find and Rescue Him

Sam is easier to find compared to Graves because he spawns in a fixed room filled with toys. Whenever Sam appears in your run, he will always be inside this same room layout. Important notes about Sam:

  • Appears as a random hostage.
  • His room is recognizable due to the toys scattered around.
  • In some cases, Sam may spawn right in front of the elevator, which makes him very easy to grab.
  • If you’ve already unlocked him and your friend has too, he may appear without giving a coin reward.

Saving Sam is straightforward—reach his room, interact with him, and escort him safely.

Graves – How to Find and Rescue Him

Graves is trickier because he does not spawn in a fixed room. His spawn location can vary, and finding him requires patience and exploration. Things to know about Graves:

  • He can appear anywhere on the floor.
  • His spawn chance increases after Floor 15.
  • When you find him, he will be marked clearly, so you won’t miss him.

Unlike Sam, Graves can appear in awkward spots such as tight corridors or rooms that aren’t easy to clear. Stay alert for enemies when approaching him.

Important Floor Requirements

Hostage NPCs only begin spawning after a certain point in your run.

  • Hostages start appearing after Floor 10 with random chance.
  • Sam & Graves have better spawn chances after Floor 15.
  • Make sure you survive long enough to reach these deeper floors to trigger their appearances.

Rescuing Sam and Graves is one of the key progression steps in Deadly Delivery, especially if you want to unlock more classes and farm deeper floors. Just remember that they don’t appear early in the game, and you’ll need to prepare before attempting their rescue. Focus on reaching Floor 15+, keep your loadout stocked, and stay patient—their spawn is luck-based but absolutely worth it once you get them safely back.
