Maxing the Upgrade Master skill in The Forge can be expensive if you upgrade gear the normal way. You need 1,000 upgrades to reach the max level, and doing that with regular weapons will drain your gold fast.

Why This Method Works
The trick uses a special material found in World 1 called Fichillium. When crafted into a dagger, this item has zero stats, meaning upgrading it costs 0 gold. Since each enhancement still counts toward your Upgrade Master progress, you can spam upgrades endlessly without spending money.
This isn’t a glitch—just a clever loop the game currently allows.
Step 1: Redeem the New Codes
Before starting, use the newest codes to get some helpful rewards (Luck Totem, Rerolls, etc.). Go to Settings → scroll down → enter codes:
- 100k light
- 200k
- Newest code (rewards a Luck Totem + 5 Rerolls)
Claim them to get extra buffs while grinding.
Step 2: Go to World 1 and Find Fichillium
You need at least 3 Fichillium to craft the item required for the method. How to reach the Fichillium location:
- Return to World 1.
- Go near the house shown in the clip.
- Jump to the side area and dash/roll into the hidden gap. If you’re a Dwarf race, this part becomes much easier.
- Drop down into the secret spot.
- Mine the Lucky Block until you collect 3 Fichillium.
Once you’ve got them, reset and head back to the crafting station.
Step 3: Craft the Fichillium Dagger
At the crafting station:
- Insert your 3 Fichillium.
- Select Dagger as the item to craft.
- Craft the dagger.
This dagger has no stats, which is exactly what makes the method work.
Step 4: Start the Upgrade Spam
Now it’s time to max your Upgrade Master skill.
- Talk to the Enhancer NPC.
- Select your Fichillium Dagger.
- Notice the upgrade cost = 0 gold.
- Press Enhance repeatedly.
- Use an auto-clicker or macro to speed it up.
Every press counts toward the 1,000 total upgrades needed.
Players can reach max Upgrade Master (35% crit chance) in around 10–11 minutes with zero gold spent.

This is one of the fastest progression boosts in the entire game.
Reaching max Upgrade Master gives you:
