Getting the right weapon in The Forge changes how fast you clear caves, survive boss fights, and farm rare ore. Crafting is part recipe, part choice of materials, and part skill — the same recipe can yield very different weapons depending on how cleanly you play the mini-games.
This guide explains every weapon class, the ore cost, and concrete steps you can take to raise your odds of getting rare, high-stat weapons. Also check out our Roblox The Forge Beginner Guide for those interested and the Race Tier List.
How weapon crafting works
- The amount of ore you put in decides the weapon class.
- The ore type (common vs rare) can add passive bonuses.
- Your mini-game performance (smelt, pour, shape) determines quality and rarity.
- In short: recipe → class, mini-games → rarity/stats.
Ore requirements by weapon class
- Daggers — 3 ore (guaranteed dagger)
- Straight Swords — 6 ore
- Gauntlet (fist weapons) — 9 ore
- Katanas — 12 ore
- Great Swords — 16 ore
- Great Axe — 22 ore
- Colossal Swords — 120 ore
Note: base success rates vary by class, but performing well in mini-games always improves results.
Weapon recipes and how to improve your chances
Daggers — 3 ore
- Recipe: insert exactly 3 ore.
- Why use them: fast attacks, great for early game.
- How to get rarer dagger variants: land at least two Perfects during shaping. Don’t waste extra ore — it won’t change the class.
Straight Swords — 6 ore
- Recipe: use 6 ore.
- Why use them: balanced, cost-effective.
- How to improve odds for Cutlass/Chaos: aim for Perfect on pouring and shaping; use higher-tier ore when possible to unlock passive bonuses.
Gauntlets — 9 ore
- Recipe: put in 9 ore.
- Why use them: very quick, close-range damage.
- How to increase chances: get Perfects on every mini-game; craft at the Forgotten Kingdom forge if you have access — it tends to be more consistent.
Katanas — 12 ore
- Recipe: 12 ore required.
- Why use them: good DPS and reach.
- How to improve odds for Tachi (top katana): keep the pouring pointer dead center in the yellow box and hit multiple Perfects in shaping.
Great Swords — 16 ore
- Recipe: 16 ore.
- Why use them: heavy hits for tanky enemies.
- How to boost Crusader Sword odds: wait until you have stronger ore types (the passives stack better) and aim for Perfect shaping to favor higher-tier outcomes.
Great Axe — 22 ore
- Recipe: 22 ore.
- Why use them: huge damage per hit.
- How to get Double Battle Axe more often: achieve three or more Perfect shaping clicks in a row and time hammer clicks instead of spamming.
Colossal Swords — 120 ore
- Recipe: 120 ore (end-game class).
- Why use them: highest raw damage.
- How to maximize chance for Dragon Slayer / Skull Crusher: only use rare top-tier ore, craft at Forgotten Kingdom, and aim for Perfect on smelt, pour, and shape.
How to reliably get “Perfect” quality
- Smelting: pump steadily. Use short taps; avoid overfilling the green bar.
- Pouring: keep the indicator inside the yellow zone. Slow, small adjustments work best.
- Shaping: click only when the small circle lines up exactly with the large one. Multiple Perfects = higher rarity.
Use high-tier ore strategically
- Some ores add passives (extra damage, attack speed, bleed, etc.).
- Save rare ores for Katanas, Great Axe, and Colossal Swords — that’s where passives and high base damage matter most.
- Don’t waste Diamonds/rare ore on low-tier crafts or early-game experiments.
Crafting in The Forge rewards patience and precision. Plan which weapons you need for your playstyle, reserve rare ores for the classes that benefit most, and practice the mini-games until Perfect becomes routine. With careful ore management and clean execution, you’ll craft stronger gear, waste fewer resources, and clear tougher content much faster.
