The latest Fisch update has finally introduced a mysterious alien visitor, a crashed UFO, and one of the strongest free rods ever released in the game: the Blade of Glorp. This guide explains how to unlock the rod, where to start the quest, how to complete every step, and why this rod is worth farming. Also check out our Fisch Codes for more rewards!
Where the Update Begins
Players can now visit Roslet Bay to find a crashed alien ship and an unknown creature who can’t speak our language. You’ll notice a strange laser blade rod on this alien’s back, but you can’t communicate until you craft a special translator.
Before getting the rod, three main things stand out in the update:
- Bluefish species are now much stronger and rarer.
- Accessories now stay equipped automatically across all journeys.
- Natural abundance changes now affect stronger fish spawns.
After talking to the alien, you’ll get a code: Use Code: ALIENS to receive free items including a scanner and a bloop whistle.
Step 1 – Obtain the Glee Mutation Fish
To communicate with the alien, you first need to talk to Dr. Crookspine (NPC near Roslet Bay). He’ll ask for a fish with the Gleebous mutation.
How to Get Gleebous Mutation:
- Fish directly at the UFO crash site.
- No specific rod is required, but mutation chances are extremely low.
- Expect to spend 10–20 minutes fishing for just one.
Once you finally catch the mutated fish, bring it back to Dr. Crookspine.
Step 2 – Craft the Translator
Crookspine will create a blueprint and ask for three alien items:
Required Items:
- Device Display
- Translator Core
- Communication Circuit
How to Farm Them:
- These drops are Garbage rarity, so use Garbage bait.
Fish at different locations:
- Translator Core usually drops at Roslet Bay.
- Communication Circuit commonly drops at Sunstone Island.
- Device Display takes the longest, so expect grinding.
Return these three items to Crookspine to unlock the translator and a new title: Glebin.
Step 3 – Catch 15 Gleebous Fish
Talk to the alien again and he will now request:
Catch 15 Gleebous mutated fish.
Tips to speed this up:
- Use any rod with mutation boost or fish at the crash site.
- Perfect catches improve consistency.
- Mutation feels easier once you’ve progressed into the quest.
After delivering the fish, you finally unlock the new rod.

Is Blade of Glorp Worth Getting?
For a rod that costs zero currency and only requires effort, the Blade of Glorp stands out as a powerful free option. Its high luck alone makes it incredibly helpful for relic farming, and the laser effect is unique, fun, and rewarding.
Players who focus on grinding and rare catches should absolutely finish this questline. If Fisch is building hype toward Fischmast, this rod seems like an early gift worth keeping.
The Fisch alien update is small but meaningful, introducing a fun quest, a free top-tier rod, and new upgrades to the fishing system. Whether you’re a veteran grinder or a casual player, unlocking the Blade of Glorp is a must. Keep your eyes open—Fischmast is coming, and this rod might be important later. If you plan to grind this rod soon, prepare some garbage bait and get ready to fish at the crash site. Happy fishing.
