Stone is one of the simplest materials in The Forge, but strangely, many players struggle to collect it. Even though it’s supposed to be the most basic ore in the game, the current event makes stone harder to obtain than rare ores. What Makes Stone Hard to Obtain
Stone normally drops from breaking pebbles around the mining area. Based on its index, stone has a 1/1 chance, which should mean every pebble droppps stone. Instead, many players end up getting sandstone or other ores, even after breaking dozens of pebbles.
The main reason this is happening isn’t just luck. Right now, The Forge is running a 2x Luck event. Events like this increase your chance to pull rarer ores. Since stone is a guaranteed drop (1/1 non-rare), the boosted luck actually pushes the game to give anything except stone. In short, the bonus luck makes stone impossible to drop in the expected way.
How to Get Stone Correctly
Even with the luck boost messing things up, there is still a proper approach to farm stone:
1. Use the Worst Pickaxe You Have
Do not use high-level tools. Using strong pickaxes increases the effect of luck even more, causing stone to get overshadowed. The best option right now is:
- Bronze Pickaxe, or any pickaxe below iron tier.
2. Only Mine Pebbles
Stone doesn’t come from normal ore nodes. Make sure you’re mining the small pebble stones scattered in the main area.
3. Expect Delays During Events
As long as the 2x Luck event is active, stone will remain harder to obtain than it should be. You may have to mine a lot more pebbles than usual. If drops still feel bugged, the best option is to wait for the event to end.
Is Stone Bugged?
Technically, stone is not bugged. The issue comes from how the game system interacts with the luck event. Since stone is not a rare drop, the increased luck ruins the normal drop logic. This makes stone feel rarer than high-tier ores, even though it’s labeled as the most common material.
Stone should be the easiest resource in The Forge, but the current 2x Luck event changes how drops work, making it strangely difficult to obtain. Stick to weak pickaxes and focus on pebbles if you need stone right now. Once the event ends, farming stone will return to normal, so players who don’t need it urgently might prefer to wait.
