Traits Anime Ascendants Tier List, Best One to Use!
Traits are one of the most important mechanics in Anime Ascendants, especially with the game shifting to a heavier grind system and limited resources. Choosing the right trait can make a huge difference in how strong your units become.
Since the game is freshly reworked from its original form (formerly named Special Anime Defense), it now comes with new modes, updated mechanics, rebalanced units, and an entirely revamped Trait system.
To help you avoid wasting tokens on bad rolls, here’s a full breakdown of the best traits, how they rank, and how you can get them. Also check out our Anime Ascendants Codes list for more rewards!
Anime Ascendants Trait Tier List
The re-release offers 17 total traits, many of which are scaled variations like Strong I, II, III or Nimble I, II, III. Traits range from Rare to Mythic, and the higher the rarity, generally the better the impact. Below is the full ranking:

- Slayer A strong pick when focusing on boss damage.

- Expertion Great for players grinding levels; adds bonus XP.
- Strong III Solid raw damage boost for most DPS units.
- Nimble III Cooldown reduction is almost always superior to pure damage boosts.

- Nimble II Best choice in this tier; cooldown is always valuable.
- Strong II Solid mid-tier damage boost, worth keeping early on.

- Nimble I Best option in this tier, but replace it later.

D Tier – Traits to Avoid
- Range I The weakest possible trait and not worth keeping.
How to Get Traits in Anime Ascendants
There are two ways to obtain traits:
1. Through Summons
Sometimes units come with traits already equipped. This is rare and completely random.
2. Through the Trait NPC (Best Method)
Follow this path to reroll traits:
- Go to the Summon area from the main hub.
- Enter the room and look to your right.
- You’ll see Miki, the vendor with a huge orange Traits sign.
- Interact using E.
- Select the unit you want to modify.
- Hit the pink Reroll button to spin for a new trait.
- Keep the trait if you like it; otherwise reroll again.
Choosing the right trait can save you countless hours of grinding and prevent wasted resources. More traits and units are likely to be added with future updates, so expect the meta to shift over time. Keep checking for new updates and save your tokens wisely. Happy rolling!
