Dig to Escape is a prison–break Roblox game where your goal is simple: get out. While most players tunnel their way through the cell floor, the game actually offers multiple escape routes, each leading to a different ending. If you want to explore every path or you’re stuck trying to finish one, this guide walks you through all current endings and how to unlock them step-by-step.

All Endings in Dig to Escape

Right now, the game features two endings, with a third one coming on December 14, 2025.

  • Mineshaft Ending – Dig a full tunnel from your cell, drop into the mineshaft, and complete a running escape sequence.
  • Janitor Ending – Collect specific items, access restricted rooms, solve a small puzzle, and walk out through the main entrance.

Once the third ending arrives, you can expand your escape options even more.

How to Get the Mineshaft Ending

The Mineshaft route is the standard escape method. You’ll dig straight down from your cell, collect items, trade for toilet paper, buy food for energy recovery, and upgrade your digging tools.

  • You start with a spoon. It works for the top layers but is very slow.
  • Items you dig up can be sold for toilet paper, which you’ll use to buy food and tools.
  • The better your shovel, the faster you progress.

1. Pick the Energizer Class

This class uses less energy, letting you dig longer while saving food and toilet paper.

2. Upgrade Your Tools as Soon as Possible

  • Spoon → Plastic Shovel → Explosives → Trovel
You can skip the Spatula if you want. If you see the Iron Shovel early and you have the resources, grab it.

3. Don’t Worry About the Guard Inside the Cell

The guard can’t enter your cell or catch you digging as long as the door stays closed.
Just avoid wandering halls at night or hiding in other prisoner cells.

4. Use the Vent System at Night

If it’s night and you need supplies, the vent near your cell lets you reach traders safely.
Items reset every morning, so don’t miss good items.

5. Avoid Digging Too Narrow

A narrow tunnel reduces item drops, which lowers your toilet paper income.

6. Don’t Skip Free Cafeteria Food

Free meals save you a lot of toilet paper. Once you break through the final concrete layer, you’ll fall into a mineshaft. Walk toward the tracks to begin the final chase sequence:

  • Run forward
  • Dodge obstacles
  • Climb the final ladder

Reach the top and you’ve escaped.

How to Get the Janitor Ending

This ending skips most of the digging and instead focuses on gathering special items and solving a room-based puzzle. It’s quicker than the Mineshaft route once you know what to do.

1. Choose the Speedster Class

You’ll be moving between rooms a lot, so the extra speed helps avoid guards.

2. Gather 200 Toilet Paper

You’ll need this for the Illegal Card.
Farm items by digging across a wide area to maximize drops.
The Illegal Card may not appear until around Day 12.

3. Buy the Illegal Card and Head to the Cafeteria

Turn right and enter the hallway with the Security Room.
Use the Illegal Card to open it—the guard inside is asleep.
Take the ladder inside.

4. Bring the Ladder to the Janitor Room

Place it near the shaft and climb into the vent system.
Follow the route to reach the Electric Room.

5. Avoid the Patrolling Guard

A guard walks the hallway outside the Electric Room. Stay out of sight.

6. Collect 12 Batteries

The batteries are large and easy to spot.
They are scattered around nearby rooms and hallways.
Insert all 12 into the Electric Room’s power box.

7. Walk Through the Main Door

Once powered, the door opens and you can exit for the Janitor Ending.
This ending becomes much easier with two or three friends helping gather batteries.

Each ending in Dig to Escape gives you a different way to break out, whether you love long digging runs or puzzle-based escapes. With the Mineshaft and Janitor endings ready to complete—and a third one on the way—this game offers plenty of replay value. Try each route, learn the tricks, and pick your favorite escape style as you keep perfecting your run.
