How to Obtain All Radiant Crystals for Astraeus Serenade Quest 1 – Fisch Guide

Getting the Radiant Crystals needed for Astraeus Serenade Quest 1 is one of the toughest early steps in Fisch, especially if you don’t have some of the older elemental rods. This guide breaks down the entire process so you know exactly where to go, what to use, and how to secure every crystal needed to craft the first quest item. What Are Radiant Crystals for Astraeus Serenade Quest 1?

For the first part of the Astraeus Serenade quest, you must collect three Radiant Crystals, each with a different mutation:

  1. Breezed Radiant Crystal
  2. Serene Radiant Crystal
  3. Celestial Radiant Crystal

All three are fished from the same location, but each requires a specific rod to trigger the correct mutation. None of these can be obtained from appraising.

Step 1: Entering the Mineshaft

Before you can start gathering Radiant Crystals, you must reach the Mineshaft inside the Chasm.

How to Enter the Chasm

  1. Talk to Merlin in the main hub.
  2. Select the option “I need to enter the chasm.”
  3. Merlin grants you Merlin’s Veil, a buff that lets you enter safely.
  4. Go behind Merlin’s house, jump down the cliff, and enter the large cave opening.

Inside this area, you’ll find a small fishing pool. This is where all Radiant Crystals are caught.

There is no bait or trick to increase your chances—you only need patience and the correct rod.

Step 2: Getting Every Required Radiant Crystal

1. Breezed Radiant Crystal

This mutation only appears when using the Wind Elemental Rod.

How to get the Wind Elemental Rod:

  • Travel to the Northern Expedition
  • Climb to the top area
  • Talk to the NPC there
  • Complete his quest to unlock the rod

Without this rod, the Breezed mutation cannot appear.

2. Serene Radiant Crystal

The Serene mutation is the hardest to obtain because it requires very specific rods:

  • Polaris Serenade (20% chance) – no longer obtainable
  • Duskwire (2–4% chance) – still obtainable, but low odds

If you don’t own either rod, this step will take time since you must rely on the Duskwire’s low mutation chance.

3. Celestial Radiant Crystal

The Celestial mutation requires the Celestial Rod, which has a 100% mutation rate for Celestial crystals.

How to get the Celestial Rod:
You must complete the Ancient Isles puzzle and craft the rod at its forge.
This puzzle requires around three players working together to open the Ancient Archives. If you missed the update, finding a group is the main challenge.

Alternatively, the Heavenly Sparkling Event offers a 5% chance to obtain Celestial mutations, but this event doesn’t run often.

Step 3: Turning in the Radiant Crystals

Once you have all three crystal types in your inventory:

  1. Return to Merlin
  2. A new dialogue option will appear
  3. You’ll unlock the ability to craft the Dusky Thread

This item is the first required material for progressing to the next stages of the Astraeus Serenade quest.

Gathering all Radiant Crystals is the most demanding part of Quest 1, mainly because each mutation depends on rods tied to older updates. If you’re missing the Wind Elemental, Duskwire, or Celestial Rod, expect to spend some time unlocking them before you can move forward. Once all three crystals are collected, the rest is smooth, and you’ll officially complete the first major hurdle toward crafting the Astraeus Serenade. More steps will open after this, so keep your gear ready and continue exploring the Mineshaft as you progress through the quest in Fisch.
