It turns out the quest was working the entire time. The catch is simple: You must have the three required fish in your inventory at the same time.
Only then will Merlin show a new dialogue and allow you to craft a secret item. Because players didn’t know how the hand-in worked, everyone eventually gave up searching, and the secret was forgotten until now.
How To Complete Astraeus Serenade Quest 1 in Fisch Roblox
Getting through the first step of the Astraeus Serenade quest can feel overwhelming, especially with all the hints and noise from the community. This guide breaks everything down into a simple, clear path so you can focus on what actually matters. No confusing clues, no misleading tricks—just the real steps you need to follow to get the first piece of the Astraeus Serenade rod.
What You Need to Know About the Quest
The first requirement of this quest is collecting three special Radiant Crystals with specific mutations. Many players assumed these crystals came from different fish, but the truth is they all come from the same area introduced during the Merlin rework: the Mineshaft.
Three mutated Radiant Crystals are required:
- Breezed Radiant Crystal
- Serene Radiant Crystal
- Celestial Radiant Crystal
Each mutation depends on the rod you’re using, which makes this step tricky for anyone who hasn’t completed older content.
How to Enter the Chasm and Start Fishing
Before fishing for Radiant Crystals, you need access to the Chasm. Here’s the path:
1. Talk to Merlin
Speak to Merlin and choose the option that says “I need to enter the chasm.”
He’ll give you a temporary buff called Merlin’s Veil, which lets you enter the area safely.
2. Enter the Mineshaft
Go behind Merlin’s house, jump down toward the Chasm entrance, and enter the large opening.
Inside, you’ll find a pool of water—this is where you must fish for all Radiant Crystals.
There is no special bait or trick here. You simply fish in this pool until the Radiant Crystals appear.
How to Get Each Required Mutation
1. Breezed Radiant Crystal
To get the Breezed mutation, you must use the Wind Elemental Rod.
If you don’t have it:
- Go to the Northern Expedition
- Talk to the NPC at the top
- Complete the quest to unlock the rod
2. Serene Radiant Crystal
This mutation is only possible with:
- Polaris Serenade (20% chance) – no longer obtainable
- Duskwire Rod (2–4% chance)
If you don’t own either rod, this step becomes harder, since no other rods produce this mutation.
3. Celestial Radiant Crystal
You’ll need the Celestial Rod, which has a 100% mutation chance for Celestial. The problem is crafting this rod requires solving the Ancient Isles puzzle—a puzzle that needs around three players working together to open the archives. If you weren’t around for that update, it may take time to gather players who can help. There’s also a small chance (5%) to get Celestial mutations during the Heavenly Sparkling Event, but that event doesn’t run often. Note: None of these mutations can be obtained by appraising. You must catch them manually.
Crafting the Dusky Thread
Once you have all three Radiant Crystals:
- Return to Merlin
- A new dialogue option will appear
- You’ll be able to craft the Dusky Thread, which is the first required piece for the Astraeus Serenade rod
