The Peppermint Rod is the easiest Fischmas rod to obtain and is available almost immediately after reaching the village area.
How to get:
- Go to the Fischmas village
- Find the merchant area
- Purchase it for 4,000 Bells
Peppermint Rod stats:
- Lure Speed: 350%
- Luck: 50%
- Control: 0.12
- Resilience: 12%
- Max KG: 10,000
- Passive: 25% chance for Peppermint mutation on fish
This rod is fine for early Fischmas grinding but is not meant for late-game progression.
Gingerbread Rod – How to Get It
The Gingerbread Rod is another early Fischmas rod, but instead of Bells, it costs in-game cash.
How to get:
- Travel across the bridge to the Gingerbread House
- Purchase it using cash (not Bells)
Gingerbread Rod stats:
- Lure Speed: 50%
- Luck: 65%
- Control: 0.10
- Resilience: 10%
- Max KG: 2,000
- Passive: 25% chance for Gingerbread mutation
This rod is mainly for mutation farming and collection rather than power.
Santa’s Miracle Rod – How to Get It
The Santa’s Miracle Rod is a story-locked rod and one of the most important items in the entire update.
How to get:
- Complete the full Santa questline
- Finish all elf quests
- Find the real Santa
- Complete every Santa fishing task
- Catch the Northstar Whale
Once you finish the storyline, Santa rewards you with:
- Santa’s Miracle Rod
- Ever Frost Key
This rod cannot be skipped and is required to unlock the final Fischmas rod. Before moving on, your Santa’s Miracle Rod must be enchanted. What you need:
- Buy a Festive Relic for 2,500 Bells from the igloo snowman
- Use the relic to apply a festive enchant to Santa’s Miracle Rod
Without this step, you cannot progress to the final rod.
Maelstrom Rod – How to Get the Best Rod in Fisch
The Maelstrom Rod is the strongest rod in the Fischmas update and one of the hardest items to unlock.
Requirements:
- Santa’s Miracle Rod (festive enchanted)
- Ever Frost Key
- Essence of Winter (1 in 1,000 chance while fishing in village)
- Essence of Star Frost (1 in 150 chance during Frost Moon)
- Frost Moon Totem (5,000 Bells)
Steps to unlock:
- Activate Frost Moon in the village
- Pull all three frozen levers during the event
- Enter the vault
- Use both essences on the serpent statues
- Unlock the door with the Ever Frost Key
- Catch and complete the Cryoshock Serpent bestiary
- Reach the final platform and purchase the rod
Maelstrom Rod stats:
- Lure Speed: 80%
- Luck: 85%
- Control: 0.15
- Resilience: 35%
- Max KG: Infinite
- Cost: 3,250,000
This rod is only obtainable during Fischmas and cannot be unlocked later.
