Lelouch is one of the hidden units in Universal Tower Defense, and unlocking him requires finishing a long secret quest line called Power of Kings. While the quests may look confusing at first, there is actually a very fast and efficient way to clear every step without wasting time or resources.
This guide explains each quest requirement in simple steps, shows the fastest methods to complete them, and ends with a clear overview of Lelouch’s abilities so you know whether he is worth investing in. Also check out our Universal Tower Defense Codes & Tier List for more rewards!
How to Start the Lelouch Secret Quest
To begin the quest line, open the Quest menu, go to Personal, and look for Power of Kings. You will not see the full chain at once. Each task unlocks the next step after completion.
Quest 1: Reach Level 30
This is the easiest part. Simply level your account to Level 30, then return to the quest menu and claim the reward to unlock the next quest.
Quest 2: Talk to the Distressed Subject
The distressed subject is a random NPC somewhere in the lobby. It can be characters like Naruto, Zoro, Shanks, Rukia, or others.
How to find them fast:
- Look around the entire lobby, including rooms and corners.
- The correct NPC will have a red arrow or triangle above their head.
- Every player gets a different NPC.
- Do not talk to the mysterious woman yet, she does not count here.
Once you find the NPC, interact with them and skip the dialogue. Claim the quest to move on.
Quest 3: Find the Board Game
This quest depends on the anime origin of your distressed NPC.
- Naruto NPC: Go to Ninja Forest
- One Piece NPC: Go to Marine Base
- Bleach NPC: Go to Hollowed Moon
Enter any act. Inside the map, look for chess boards placed around the area. There are usually three or four boards, but only one is correct.
Important tips:
- Step on a board to test it.
- If no chess game starts, it is the wrong board.
- Keep checking until the chess match begins.
The chess puzzle is not random. The choices are always the same, so follow the correct option order and you will win. After finishing, return to the lobby and claim the quest.
Quest 4: Talk to the Mysterious Woman
Go near the Play and Extras area, close to group rewards. Talk to the mysterious woman, skip the dialogue, and claim the quest.
Quest 5: Complete 80 Waves in One Game
This must be done in a single run.
- Story mode does not work.
- You must play Infinite Mode.
- Reach Wave 80, then return to the lobby.
Once completed, claim the quest.
Quest 6: Kill 15 Boss Enemies (Fast Method)
The fastest way is Infinite Mode on the first map.
Quick method:
- Enter Infinite Mode.
- Defeat the first boss (usually around Wave 10).
- Leave and restart.
- Repeat until you reach 15 boss kills.
This method takes around 25–30 minutes total.
Quest 7: Upgrade Relics 75 Times (Save Your Gold)
This quest counts each single upgrade, not max upgrades.
Correct way to do it:
- Use low-level relics.
- Upgrade them one level at a time.
- Do not press the “Max” button.
Upgrading from Level 1 to Level 2 counts as one upgrade. Doing this across many relics will finish the quest using very little gold.
Quest 8: Place Units 5,000 Times (Fastest Macro Method)
This is the most annoying quest, but also the easiest with a macro.
What you need:
- Speedwagon in your team
- TinyTask or any simple macro tool
Steps:
- Enter any game mode.
- Lose on purpose.
- Close the result screen using the X button (do not replay).
- Start recording your macro.
- Place Speedwagon.
- Sell Speedwagon.
- Repeat quickly.
- Stop recording.
Loop the macro until the quest finishes. This method completes the requirement automatically while you are AFK.
After this, claim the quest and unlock Lelouch along with a large amount of rerolls and gems.
Lelouch Unit Overview and Abilities
Lelouch is a control-based support unit, not a traditional damage dealer.
Core Passive: Geass
Instead of attacking normally, Lelouch issues orders to enemies. His cooldown determines how often he can apply effects.
- Stand Still: Stuns enemies for 4 seconds. Affected enemies collide with others, causing mutual damage and often clearing grouped enemies.
- Retreat: Forces enemies to walk backward for a portion of the time they stay in Lelouch’s vision.
- Attack Order: Makes enemies move backward briefly and collide with others, similar to Stand Still.
Upgrades and Abilities
- Cooldown decreases as you upgrade him.
- Upgrade 7 – Absolute Control:
Applies the current order to every enemy on the map (may be bugged at the moment). - Upgrade 10 – Beam Ability:
Lelouch finally deals damage through a beam that applies his damage value as a control-based hit.
Is Lelouch Worth Using?
Right now, Lelouch is a situational unit. He shines against bosses and dense enemy waves but is not very strong in early-game content. However, his mechanics scale extremely well and have huge potential for future updates. Because of that, Lelouch is a unit worth keeping and slowly investing in in Universal Tower Defense.
Completing the Lelouch secret quest line may look long, but with the right approach, it can be done quickly and efficiently. From finding the correct NPC to macroing the final placement quest, every step has a clear shortcut that saves time and resources. Even if you are unsure about using Lelouch right now, the gems and rerolls alone make this quest line worth finishing.
