The best part is that skills level up naturally as you play. Also check out our Roblox The Forge Beginner Guide for those interested and the Race Tier List.
There is no manual grinding system or special requirement. Simply doing normal activities will slowly improve your skills and give you permanent bonuses over time. This guide explains how skills work in The Forge, how to unlock and level each one, and which skills you should focus on first.
How Skills Work in The Forge
The Forge features 10 different skills, each tied to a specific activity in the game. These skills act like long-term progression rewards. As you perform certain actions, the related skill gains progress automatically.
Each skill has five levels, and every level provides a stronger passive bonus. Once unlocked, the bonus is permanent, but you can only equip one skill at a time. To view and manage your skills:
- Press T to open the menu
- Go to the Achievements tab
Here, you can track progress, see future bonuses, and equip the skill that matches your current activity.

- Loot hunters should equip Dedicated Player for better drop rates
Since only one skill can be equipped at a time, switching skills based on your activity is key to progressing efficiently.
Skills in The Forge are a long-term progression system that rewards consistent play. You don’t need to grind them intentionally; they grow naturally as you mine, fight, explore, and upgrade gear. Knowing when to switch skills is what separates slow progress from efficient growth.
Focus on XP early, specialize later, and always match your equipped skill to what you’re doing. Over time, these small bonuses stack up and make a huge difference in how strong and efficient your character becomes.
