How to Unlock the Cooking Station
When you spawn into the game, head to the left side past the fence. You will find a food truck, which becomes your main cooking area later on. However, you cannot use it immediately.
- To unlock cooking, you must rescue Gordon, the chef.
- During your runs, reach sublevel five and carefully search the rooms on that floor.
- Gordon is tied up inside one of them.
- Once you find him, interact to free him and escort him safely back to the elevator.
- He will follow you, so make sure enemies do not interrupt the rescue.
If you cannot find Gordon on that floor, return to the surface and try again. He has a high chance to appear, but it is not guaranteed every run. After successfully rescuing him and returning to the surface, the food truck will open. Talk to Gordon, and you will see cooking pot slots in front of him. The first cooking pot can be purchased for $500, allowing you to start preparing food.

Cooking time depends on the recipe and ingredient quality. Some dishes finish quickly, while others can take hours. Once finished, you can choose to eat the dish or sell it.
In most cases, selling cooked food is not worth it. Many dishes do not increase value and can even lose money. Cooking is best used for buffs or to unlock album entries.
Cooking Tips and Tricks
To get the most value out of cooking, keep these tips in mind:
- Pick up all food items during runs, even cheap ones. Common items like potatoes are now important ingredients.
- Use ingredients without special affixes when possible. High-value variants do not significantly improve cooking results and usually reduce profit.
- Start cooking before entering a run. Since cooking takes time, letting pots work while you explore is efficient.
- Pay attention during the cooking mini-game. Failing it wastes time and ingredients, and lag can make it tricky.
- Eat a meal before starting a run. Buffs last between 30 minutes and an hour and can help with survival.
- Always eat Hoover Stew before selling loot. The +3% sell bonus for five minutes stacks well and costs very cheap ingredients.
Cooking in Deadly Delivery adds a new layer of strategy to every run. While it is not designed to make quick money, it offers helpful buffs that can improve movement, stamina, health, and selling value. By unlocking Gordon early, learning the right recipes, and using food wisely, you can turn basic loot into a real advantage during your runs.
