Universal Tower Defense Traits Tier List & What They Do!

Traits are one of the most important systems in Universal Tower Defense. A good trait can turn an average unit into a carry, while a bad roll can slow your progress a lot. Because traits affect damage, cooldown, range, and even special effects, knowing which ones are worth rolling for is extremely important.

In this guide, we will explain how traits work, how to get them, and a full tier list so you know which traits are worth keeping and which ones you should reroll. Also check out our Universal Tower Defense Codes & Tier List for more rewards!

What Are Traits in Universal Tower Defense?

Traits are special buffs that can be applied to units to boost their performance. Each unit can only have one trait at a time, and traits are rolled randomly.

Traits can increase:

  • Damage
  • Cooldown speed
  • Range
  • Critical stats
  • Income
  • Damage over time effects

Some high-tier traits also add unique mechanics like stacking damage or special DoT effects.

How to Get Traits

To roll traits, you need to visit the Traits NPC. Here’s how to find him:

  • Go to the building next to the parking lot
  • Walk there manually or use the Area Teleport on the left side of the screen

Once inside:

  1. Choose the unit you want to roll a trait for
  2. Use Trait Reroll Stones
  3. You will receive a random trait

Trait Reroll Stones can be obtained by playing the game and completing activities.

Trait Pity System Explained

Universal Tower Defense uses a pity system for traits.

Inside the Traits menu:

  • Open the Index
  • You can see all available traits
  • The game shows how many rolls are needed before you are guaranteed a high-tier trait

This system helps reduce bad luck, especially when chasing rare traits like Ruler or Eternal.

Always check the pity system, manage your reroll stones wisely, and focus on units you plan to use long-term. If you invest smartly in traits, your overall damage, clear speed, and late-game performance will improve a lot.
