Bee Swarm Simulator Item Order Guide, What to Upgrade First?
Bee Swarm Simulator gives players a huge number of choices from the very start, and picking the wrong upgrade order can slow your progress a lot. From early-game tools to late-game hive colors, every purchase matters.
This guide breaks down the most efficient item order step by step, helping you earn honey faster, complete quests smoothly, and avoid wasting resources as you move from beginner to endgame. Also check out our Bee Swarm Simulator Beginner Guide for New Players!
Early Game Item Order (Noob Shop Progression)
When you first enter the game, redeem the codes wax and nectar to get a quick honey boost. Head straight to the Noob Shop and buy the basic backpack and clippers. From here, your goal is simple: keep upgrading your backpack and tool until you own the best versions available in this shop.
Next, purchase the basic equipment pieces. The order is flexible, but getting boots first is recommended since movement speed helps with quests and farming. During this stage, focus heavily on Black Bear and Brown Bear quests, as they provide consistent rewards and guide your progression naturally. Over time, start working on Spirit Bear quests while completing other NPC quests in the background.
Pro Shop and Translator Priority (10 Bee Zone)

Once you reach the 10 Bee area, you unlock the Pro Shop. Just like before, keep upgrading your tools, bags, and gear until you own the best options here. You can safely skip the parachute since a much better mobility item becomes available later.
You will also meet Science Bear, whose quests reward Translators. Use them in this order:
- Bucko Bee
- Stick Bug
- Riley Bee
After unlocking the Red and Blue HQs, buy both the Bubble Wand and Scythe for quest requirements. For backpacks, choose the Blue Port-O-Hive. Guards at this stage are not worth the cost, so you can ignore them for now.
Sprinklers and Mountaintop Shop Order
At the 15 Bee Zone, unlock the Badge Bearer’s Guild by earning 15 badges. Inside, you will find the Sprinkler Shop. Sprinklers are extremely important because they restore flowers faster, which directly affects pollen gains. Buy better sprinklers gradually as you progress.
At 25 Bees, you gain access to the Mountaintop Shop, where item order matters a lot:
- Beekeeper Boots
- Beekeeper Mask
- Mondo Belt Bag
- Buy hive slots until you reach 33 bees
- Get the Glider (very important for movement and macro use)
- Buy the Porcelain Dipper
- Buy two more hive slots
- Finish with the Porcelain Port-O-Hive
Hive Progression and Gifted Bee Goals

Your long-term objective is unlocking the Supreme Star Amulet, which requires 40 gifted bee types. Save Star Eggs from Panda Bear and Mother Bear until you have at least one gifted common, rare, epic, and legendary bee to guarantee gifted mythics.
For a mixed hive, useful bees include:
- 4 Music Bees for Melody and Focus
- 4 Baby Bees for double pollen
- 3 Carpenter Bees for marks
- Multiple haste and red/blue boost producers
- Event bees
Best Event Bee Gifting Order
- Tabby Bee
- Photon Bee
- Bear Bee
- Gummy Bee
- Cobalt Bee
- Festive Bee
- Vicious Bee
- Puppy Bee
Masks, Planters, and Petal Items
Return to the HQs and buy your first mask: Bubble Mask. For planters, buy the Red Clay Planter first, since it drops Soft Wax needed for future crafting.
In the advanced Badge Bearer shop, buy:
- Cobalt Guard
- Crimson Guard
- Honey Mask (requires 5 Gold Eggs)
Skip the Honeycomb Belt, as it is expensive and quickly replaced.
If you have 5 Diamond Eggs, buy the Diamond Mask next. If not, move on to your first Spirit Petal item.
First Spirit Petal Choice
Always choose the Petal Belt first. It boosts bomb pollen and capacity, which matters far more at this stage than tool pollen from the Petal Wand.
Choosing the Best Hive Color
Once you unlock the Supreme Star Amulet, it is time to choose a hive color.
Why Blue Hive Is Best First
Blue hives are the cheapest and easiest to start. You can begin earning well with fewer gifted bees and lower investment. Early blue setups outperform early red or white hives by a large margin.
Red and white hives require fully gifted and mutated setups, making them much more expensive. If you plan to switch to red or white later, save at least one quadrillion honey first.
Late Game Item Order by Hive Color
Blue Hive
- Reach 50 hive slots
- Tide Popper (macro players) or Hydroponic Planter first
- Petal Planter
- Gummy Boots
- Heat-Treated Planter
Red Hive
- Petal Planter
- Demon Mask
- Dark Scythe
- Heat-Treated Planter
- Gummy Boots
- Hydroponic Planter
White Hive
- Petal Planter
- Gummy Mask
- Gummy Baller
- Gummy Boots
- Hydroponic and Heat-Treated Planters
Optional endgame items include the Coconut Belt and eventually the Planter of Plenty.
Following the correct item order in Bee Swarm Simulator saves an enormous amount of time and resources. By upgrading gear in the right sequence, focusing on efficient hive growth, and choosing blue hive first, you set yourself up for faster honey gains and smoother progression. Whether you are a new player or returning after a break, this updated item order will help you move confidently from early game to endgame without unnecessary setbacks.
