Demon Progression Guide in Demon Hunter, Noob to Pro!

Choosing the demon side in Demon Hunter has become a popular move, especially for players who want faster progress and more consistent wins. Compared to slayers, demons currently have stronger tools, better survivability, and a smoother leveling path.

This guide is made for new players or slayers who plan to switch sides and aim to become a high-rank demon, including Upper Moon in the long run. Also check out our Demon Hunter Codes for more rewards!

How to Start Progressing as a Demon

Once you enter the game as a demon, your main progression tool is the mission system. Press V, then choose Q (Missions).

  • Below level 30, you will fight slayer NPCs. These missions are simple and give steady experience and money.
  • After you invest 30 stat points, you unlock Stalkers, which are PvP missions against real slayer players. These give better rewards and faster progress.

You can also use Teleport from the same menu:

  • Tokyo is for events and gauntlets
  • Plains is for the Zenitsu boss, important for demon progression
  • Forest is mainly for slayers, so demons can ignore it

Best Stat Build for Demons

For demons, Strength is the most important stat. It boosts M1 damage and most base skills, which makes up the core of demon combat. Recommended balanced build:

  • Strength: 80
  • Constitution: 40
  • Intelligence: 40
  • Technique: 40

Stat explanations:

  • Strength: Increases basic attack and core skill damage
  • Constitution: More HP, good against burst damage
  • Intelligence: Larger blood bar, helps against limb-focused builds
  • Technique: Improves regeneration and some Blood Demon Art damage

Dexterity is generally not worth investing in for demons.

Unlocking Blood Demon Art (BDA)

To unlock your BDA:

  • Reach Level 30 with invested points, not unspent points
  • Your basic attacks will visually change, confirming your BDA
  • First BDA skill unlocks at Level 50
  • Second skill unlocks at Level 120
  • Third skill unlocks at Level 150 (not all BDAs have three skills)

Each BDA also has a passive ability, unlocked after reaching Limb Regeneration Level 25. At Level 80, you also unlock your Blood Demon Eye passive, which provides a unique bonus depending on the type you roll.

Base Demon Skills and Skill Upgrades

You gain one skill point every 25 levels, and skill upgrades begin at Level 100.

Key skills to prioritize:

  • Claw Strike: Go for the damage-focused upgrade path for stronger pressure
  • Leap Kick: Highly recommended, deals massive damage and scales well
  • Smash: One of the strongest upgrades, adds a second hit and strong follow-up
  • Range Up upgrades: Increase AoE and help in team fights

Skill choices are flexible, but Leap Kick and Smash are considered core for most builds.

Limb Training Is Mandatory

Limb training is one of the most important systems for demons. You can find it near the spawn area by looking for NPCs holding swords.

Why Limb Level 25 matters:

  • Removes stun from limb cuts and guard breaks
  • Prevents instant limb loss against limb breathing
  • Increases limb HP, making you much harder to disable

Do limb training before buying cosmetics, accessories, or rerolls. Higher levels like 30 and above further improve limb durability, but Level 25 should be your first major goal.

Best Blood Mutations for Demons

After limb training, move on to Blood Mutations by talking to the Blood Manipulator NPC near spawn. Best mutation setup:

  • Bloodpool: Increases blood capacity, helps against limb pressure
  • Reinforced Arms: Boosts strength and overall damage

Split your materials evenly between these two. Higher-grade materials improve success rates and can be earned through missions.

Accessories, Clothes, and Stats

Accessories and clothes can be found near the shop area above the spawn path. These items provide stat bonuses. Accessory tiers:

  • Purple (best)
  • Blue
  • Yellow
  • Red

Each accessory boosts different stats such as strength, technique, intelligence, or special bonuses like reinforced arms. Always check the Trello to confirm stats before buying. Focus on stats that complement your build rather than stacking only strength.

Events, Gauntlets, and Fast Progress

Events and gauntlets happen every even real-time hour:

  • Event at 2, 6, 10
  • Gauntlet at 4, 8, 12

To join:

  • Teleport to Tokyo around xx:10
  • Go to Settings → Servers
  • Join a server matching your level range

Winning events as a demon gives solid rewards, and MVP grants extra bonuses. Playing these regularly is one of the fastest ways to gain ranks, money, and experience.

Becoming a strong demon in Demon Hunter is all about smart progression, proper stat investment, and prioritizing core systems like limb training and blood mutations. With the right build and consistent participation in missions and events, reaching high demon ranks becomes much easier. If you want a smoother grind and stronger combat presence, the demon path is currently one of the best choices in the game.
