Island 3, known as Frostspire Expanse or Winter Island, is the latest area added to The Forge through its first major update. This icy region is designed for late-game players, featuring frozen landscapes, hidden ice caves, tougher enemies, and new materials needed for further progression.

Reaching this island is an important step if you want to keep moving forward in the game. What Is Frostspire Expanse in The Forge?

Frostspire Expanse is the third island in The Forge and acts as a major progression checkpoint. Compared to earlier islands, enemies here hit harder and resource nodes take longer to mine.

The island is filled with Crystal-type enemies, rare ores, and quest chains that unlock better gear. This area is clearly meant for players who have already spent time upgrading their equipment.

Requirements to Unlock Island 3 in Forge

Before Island 3 becomes available, you must meet a few conditions:

1. Level Requirement

You need to be at least Level 70. The Portal Tool will not show Island 3 as an option if your level is below this.

2. Portal Tool

The Portal Tool is required to travel between islands. This tool is unlocked early by finishing the tutorial, speaking with the Wizard NPC, and reaching level 10. Once unlocked, it becomes your main method of fast travel.

3. Previous Island Progress

While the game does not force you to fully clear Islands 1 and 2, it is strongly recommended. Better weapons, armor, and pickaxes will make Frostspire Expanse much easier to handle.

How to Travel to Island 3 in The Forge

Once all requirements are met, traveling to Island 3 is simple:

1. Spawn and interact with the Portal Tool
2. Choose Frostspire Expanse (Island 3) from the island list
3. Press the teleport button to travel instantly

After arriving, you will spawn near the starting zone. A spirit guide will point you toward Bjorn, the main quest NPC. From there, you can begin the Island 3 questline, explore ice caves, and visit Santa for seasonal rewards.
