Why Tier 2 Miner Shards Are So Important
Tier 1 runes only come with a single passive effect. Tier 2 runes are different. A Tier 2 Miner Shard can roll:
- Two passive buffs in one shard
- In rare cases, even three passives
The same applies to other Tier 2 runes, such as Tier 2 Frost Speck, which can double or triple passive effects. These bonuses massively improve mining speed, damage, and overall efficiency, making Tier 2 runes essential for both progression and endgame builds.
Update Changes That Affect Rune Farming
The December 28, 2025 update made several important changes:
- Legendary essence drop rate from bosses increased
- Ore multipliers and ore traits were nerfed
- Lifesteal runes were heavily nerfed
- Boss HP increased
- Boss damage adjusted
- Boss fight cooldown reduced from 60 minutes to 30 minutes
The most important change is that harder bosses now give better rewards, making group boss fights the best way to farm Tier 2 runes.
Best Luck Boost Setup Before Fighting the Boss
Luck is the key factor when farming Tier 2 runes. You should stack as many luck bonuses as possible before every boss fight.
1. Luck Potion

4. Christmas Event Potion
This is the most overlooked but strongest option. The Christmas Potion from the event shop gives:

- Extra mining damage
- 25% luck boost for 15 minutes
This potion lasts much longer than a Luck Totem and stacks with other luck bonuses, making it extremely valuable for farming sessions.
The Secret: Never Solo the Boss
Soloing the boss is one of the biggest mistakes when farming Tier 2 runes. The boss scales based on party size:
- More players = higher boss HP and damage
- Higher difficulty = better reward chances
This means the optimal strategy is to:
- Bring as many players as possible
- Make sure everyone has decent gear
- Fight the boss together every 30 minutes
However, there is one important rule: you must deal damage. Players who do not hit the boss at all will not receive rewards, even if they are in the party.

- Play with friends who have solid weapons and armor
- Avoid carrying undergeared players
- Rotate Luck Totems if available
