10 Things You Must Do Before the New Cave Update The Forge Guide!

Rerolls are important for getting strong races like Archangel, Demon, Angel, or Dwarf, which will help a lot with combat and mining speed in the new cave.

• Velchire and Frost Fossils from basic grinding

This armor is very strong for early Island 3 content and should be enough to tank enemies in the new cave.

8. Forge a Reliable Weapon Before the Update

A good weapon is just as important as armor.

Recommended setup:

• Straight Sword
• Use the Hell Slayer blueprint from Santa
• Cheap to craft and deals strong damage

For better performance:

• Aim for a mix of Eyesight, Voidar, and Crimson
• This gives you a solid midgame weapon without heavy grinding

9. Optimize Your Race and Discounts

If you want to save money:

• Use the Goblin race for a 12% shop discount

If the new pickaxe costs $2.7 million, Goblin can save you over $300,000, bringing the effective cost much lower. This alone can save hours of grinding.

10. Finish Important Quests Early

There is a high chance that accessing parts of the new cave or buying new gear will require quest completion. Make sure you complete:
