Universal Tower Defence Update 0.5 introduced Ichigo raids along with a new soul currency that is now required for many important rewards. From Grimjaw and shiny units to rerolls, stat rolls, and special titles, souls have quickly become one of the most valuable resources in the game.
Because of that, finding a fast and consistent farming method is more important than ever. This guide explains the most efficient way to farm Souls and Ichigo drops with minimal time wasted. Also check out our Universal Tower Defense Codes & Tier List for more rewards!
What are Soul in Universal Tower Defense
Souls are used to unlock and purchase several high-value items, including Grimjaw, shiny versions of units, rerolls, stat locks, and special titles that provide buffs. Some items cost up to 1,000 souls, meaning slow farming methods are no longer viable. Efficient runs are the key to long-term progress.
Best Stage to Farm Souls: Act Five
The best place to farm Souls in Update 0.5 is Ichigo Raid Act Five.
- Soul reward: around 19–25 Souls per run
- Average clear time: 3–4 minutes
- Lower pity compared to later acts
- Better Souls-per-minute ratio than Act Six
While Boss Rush and Act Six offer slightly higher drops, they take close to 10 minutes per run. That makes them much slower if your main goal is Soul farming.
Recommended Team Setup
This method focuses on fast clears and breaking boss overshields.
Main DPS
- Kachi (Ruler trait is helpful but not required)
- Focus on Hyper Armor Damage and Normal Damage relics
Support Units
- Sung Jin-Woo for early hybrid enemies
- Idol for damage buffs
- Ragnar for freeze and crowd control (no upgrades needed)
Kachi becomes full AoE later, so Sung Jin-Woo helps cover early waves until Kachi is fully upgraded.
How to Run Act Five Efficiently
- Place Kachi early and upgrade him as fast as possible
- Use Sung Jin-Woo to handle hybrid enemies early
- Max Kachi once he unlocks AoE
- Activate Idol’s buff before the boss spawns
- Place Ragnar near the boss path for freeze
The boss appears around Wave 15 and has two overshields, which is why Hyper Armor Damage is important. With proper setup, the run often ends around Wave 18 instead of all 20 waves.
If your goal is to farm Souls and Ichigo as fast as possible in Universal Tower Defence Update 0.5, Act Five is the clear winner. With short runs, reliable drops, and a simple team setup, this method allows you to stack Souls quickly without burning time. Even without a perfect Kachi build, this strategy remains effective and consistent for long farming sessions.
