Every Beesmas brings changes to Bee Swarm Simulator, and this year is no different. With new buffs tied to petals, ornaments, Honey Days, and Robo Party blessings, honey production is higher than ever. Also check out our Bee Swarm Simulator Mythic Bees Guide.

However, not all hive colors benefit the same way. While every hive color is usable, one clearly stands out depending on your progression and playstyle. This guide breaks down the best hive color choices for Beesmas, explains why they work, and helps you decide when to switch for maximum honey gains.

Best Hive Color Progression for Beesmas

Before diving into the strongest option overall, it is important to understand hive color progression. Picking the right hive at the right time will save you resources and prevent unnecessary struggles.

1. Early to Mid Game: Blue Hive

Before Supreme Star Amulet, and even slightly after getting it, Blue Hive remains the strongest and safest option. The main reason is Buoyant Bee and balloon mechanics. Once you get your first Buoyant Bee, your honey production jumps hard. Balloons allow you to convert massive amounts of pollen without returning to your hive constantly, which doubles efficiency compared to other hive colors at this stage.

Beesmas ornaments heavily favor Blue Hive early on. Bucko Bee ornaments, Robo ornaments, and even Black Bear or Stick Bug ornaments stack extremely well with blue capacity. With more balloons and higher capacity, Blue Hive becomes perfect for long farming sessions.

Another major advantage is passive honey. Blue Hive shines when macroing. You can let your macro run, stack balloon blessings, and still make huge amounts of honey without active boosting. Many strong Blue Hives can make hundreds of trillions per day just by farming passively. Some optimized setups even reach one quadrillion honey per day during Beesmas.

Downsides of Blue Hive:

  • Weak for active play
  • Poor attack power
  • Not ideal for Stick Bug or combat-heavy content
  • Requires high balloon blessings to fully shine

Despite that, Blue Hive is still the best choice until around level 20.

2. Late Game Switch: Red Hive

Once you reach level 20, Red Hive becomes the best option for active players. However, switching too early is a mistake. You should save at least 500 to 600 trillion honey and have proper amulets before changing. A full gifted hive is highly recommended, otherwise your honey rate will suffer.

Red Hive benefits massively from Beesmas petal buffs. Fields like Strawberry and Rose spawn many petals, making them perfect for red pollen farming. Flame-based mechanics scale extremely well with active boosting, and Red Hive does not rely on balloons or long macro sessions.

Red Hive is also strong in combat. Robo Challenge becomes much easier, and overall damage output is far better than Blue Hive. This makes Red Hive more fun for players who like active gameplay rather than full macro setups.

Red Hive strengths:

  • Excellent active honey making
  • Strong attack and combat performance
  • Less stress compared to balloon management
  • Great synergy with petal buffs

The main drawback is material usage. Red Hive requires heavy use of boosting items, similar to White Hive, to reach peak efficiency.

3. Endgame Option: White Hive

White Hive still makes the most honey overall, even during Beesmas. However, it is not recommended for most players. White Hive requires many alt accounts, precise boosting setups, and constant resource usage like gumdrops and dice.

While White Hive boosts are easier to control compared to Red Hive, the cost is much higher. You need fuzzy support, precise mark alignment, and constant coordination to maximize Gummy Star value. For players with multiple alt accounts and large inventories, White Hive remains the strongest.

That said, Red Hive is often a better balance between effort and reward for most players.

For Beesmas honeymaking, the best hive color depends on your stage:

  • Stay Blue Hive until level 20 for strong passive honey and easy progression
  • Switch to Red Hive at level 20 for powerful active farming and fun gameplay
  • Move to White Hive only if you have multiple alt accounts and massive resources

Blue Hive dominates early with passive gains, Red Hive shines in active play and combat, and White Hive remains the top option for extreme endgame setups. Until major balance changes arrive, this progression remains the safest and most efficient path for maximizing honey during Beesmas in Bee Swarm Simulator.
