Ghoul Tokyo GHOUL://RE Guide, PD Grips, Missions, RC, and Rank Explained!

Progressing as a Ghoul in Tokyo Re: can feel confusing at first, especially if you are stuck at early ranks like E or E+. The game does not explain everything clearly, so many players end up wandering without knowing what actually moves their progress forward. This guide breaks down the early Ghoul progression step by step, covering missions, RC farming, kagune unlocks, and how to move past rank walls without wasting time. Early Ghoul Progression Path

When you first spawn into the game as a Ghoul, your first goal is to complete the initial NPC interaction. Fight the nearby NPC, then move upward through the area by running along the wall path. From there, cross the bridge and enter the hidden opening in the wall.

Inside this area, you will find an NPC standing near a pillar. Talk to him once, then leave the area and continue forward across the bridge. This interaction unlocks access to the outside city, which is where real progression begins.

Reaching the City and Using the J Button

Once you reach the city area, this becomes your main hub for Ghoul progression. Press J to open the mission tracker. This feature is very important because it places markers on your screen, showing exactly where you need to go. From here, you will see several contacts:

  • A doctor NPC for healing
  • A trader NPC for selling trinkets
  • Mission NPCs that give combat tasks

The most important NPC early on is Sho Shoshi, who provides repeatable missions. These missions are your main source of combat experience, RC opportunities, and rank progression.

Missions, Stats, and Abilities

Press L to open your stats menu. Every time you level up, you can assign points to stats like strength, durability, and speed. These stats directly unlock abilities. Press M to view available skills. Each ability has stat requirements. Once you meet them, you can equip or unequip skills freely. This lets you adjust your build as you learn the game.

How to Get RC Cells and Unlock Kagune

RC cells are the most important resource for Ghouls. To unlock your kagune, you need 1,000 RC cells.

Here is how it works:

  • Knock down NPCs or players
  • Hold B and use the middle mouse button to eat them
  • Eating gives RC cells

To check your RC:

  • Hold Z to enter human mode and view RC on the screen
  • Hold Z and right-click to enter Ghoul mode

Once you reach 1,000 RC, the game will prompt you to choose your kagune type. After selecting, press X while in Ghoul mode to activate your kagune.

How to Rank Up Past E and E+

Many players get stuck at E+ rank because the game never explains the requirement. Ranking up as a Ghoul is tied heavily to eating. To progress:

  • Keep eating NPCs or players consistently
  • RC gain over time triggers rank advancement
  • Missions alone are not enough if you are not feeding

Player targets may give more RC, but NPCs work fine for steady progression. Just make sure you always eat after knocking someone down.

Death Penalty and RC Loss

If you die, you lose RC cells. This can slow progression if you die often, especially in group fights. Try to avoid unnecessary PvP early on and focus on missions until your build is more stable. NPCs are also aggressive and can interrupt attacks unless their guard is broken, so timing and positioning matter during fights.

Early Ghoul progression is all about consistency. Run missions, eat everything you knock down, and manage your stats carefully. Once you unlock your kagune and move into D rank and beyond, the game opens up much more. Understanding RC, feeding, and mission flow early will save you hours of confusion later. Stick to the basics, avoid risky fights, and your Ghoul will progress naturally through the ranks.
