Gold is one of the most important resources in Heartopia, especially during the early game. You need it to buy seeds, craft items, upgrade tools, and support your daily activities. Many new players struggle with earning gold efficiently at the start, but with the right setup, you can make a solid amount in a short time.

Step 1: Level Up Farming and Fishing to Level 2
Before anything else, focus on leveling up Farming and Fishing hobbies to Level 2. These two hobbies are the foundation of this method.
- Farming level 2 allows better crop efficiency.
- Fishing level 2 gives access to better fishing results.
Do quests and basic activities until both reach level 2.
Step 2: Plant Expensive Seeds at Home
Once farming is ready, go to the NPC and buy the most expensive seeds you can afford. Plant them inside your house using your farming plot. Important tips:
- Always water your plants every time you return home.
- Do not skip watering, or growth will slow down.
- Focus on value, not quantity.
High-value crops will increase your total gold when sold later.
Step 3: Farm Fruits Outside Your House
Next, move outside and start farming fruits, especially apples. To do this efficiently, you need to:
- Craft bait (make a lot of it).
- Collect other fruits like raspberry, mandarin, and blueberry while farming apples.
- Craft multiple repair kits to fix your tools when durability runs low.
The more repair kits you have, the longer you can farm without stopping.
Step 4: Unlock Cooking (Level 1 Is Enough)
Make Cooking your third hobby. You only need Level 1, so do not overinvest early.
What to do:
- Cook all fruit into jam.
- Cook as much jam as possible.
- Jam usually sells for around 160–300 gold per item.
Important:
- Do not eat the jam.
- Save it all for selling later.
- Eat raw fruits instead if you need stamina.
Step 5: Go Fishing at a High-Value Spot
Now it is time to fish.
- Start with normal fishing first.
- After that, use your crafted bait.
- This fishing spot can give 1-star, 2-star, and 3-star fish.
Notes:
- Even 1-star fish are valuable.
- If you keep getting sardines, move to a different spot.
- Fish respawn quickly, so you can rotate spots and return.
Clearing one full fishing cycle usually takes around 15 minutes.
Step 6: Sell Everything for Gold
After farming, cooking, and fishing:
- Sell all jam.
- Sell all fish.
- Sell crops if you have extra plants ready.
From one run:
- Around 7,900–8,000 gold is very realistic.
- With more jam and crops, you can reach 10,000–12,000 gold in early game.
