The new Raid mode in Anime Vanguards can be confusing at first, especially if you jump in without understanding the mechanics behind Act 1 and Act 2. Unlike normal stages, this raid focuses more on observation, timing, and interaction with the map rather than pure damage. This guide breaks everything down step by step so you can clear both acts smoothly without wasting retries. Also check out our Anime Vanguards Tier List & Anime Vanguards Codes for more rewards!
Raid Overview: What Makes This Raid Different?
This raid is split into Act 1 and Act 2, and each act uses unique mechanics that are not explained clearly in-game. Instead of just defeating enemies, you must pay attention to boss spawns, green indicators, rotating paths, and special NPC units. Missing one detail can stop your progress entirely.
How to Clear Raid Act 1 (Code Puzzle Phase)
Understanding the Green Numbers
During Act 1, you will notice green numbers flashing at the top of the screen. These numbers represent specific waves and are the key to entering Act 2.
What you need to do:
- Watch carefully when a wave number turns green
- On that wave, count how many bosses spawn
- Do not count enemies, only bosses
How to Input the Correct Code
After Act 1 ends, you will be asked to enter a code.
The code works like this:
- Each boss equals one input
- The input number is the wave number
- If two bosses spawn on the same wave, input that wave number twice
Example:
- Wave 5 (green): 2 bosses → input 5, 5
- Wave 6 (green): 1 boss → input 6
- Wave 8 (green): 1 boss → input 8
Final code: 5 5 6 8
Once all green-number waves are completed and entered correctly, you will unlock Act 2.
How to Clear Raid Act 2 (Happy Innocents Phase)
Act 2 is less about killing and more about control and protection.
Happy Innocents Explained
- Happy Innocents spawn from green zones
- Regular enemies spawn from red zones
- Your goal is to guide Happy Innocents safely to your base
- Only Happy Innocents should reach your base
- Letting enemies through will damage your run
Track Rotation Mechanics
You can rotate paths on the map to control movement:
- Rotate paths to block enemy routes
- Rotate paths to guide Happy Innocents forward
- Watch the green indicator to know where the next spawn will be
Be careful with AoE units. Some units can accidentally damage or kill Happy Innocents, which can cost you progress if not managed properly.
Reaching Wave 15 and the Barrel Phase
Once you survive until Wave 15, the raid enters the next phase.
Explosive Barrel Mechanics
- Explosive barrels spawn on the map
- You must rotate paths to guide barrels toward the boss (Doflamingo)
- Each barrel removes 1 stock
- The boss has 5 stocks, so you need 5 barrels
After all stocks are removed:
- The boss wipes the map
- All placed units are deleted
- Your Yen is reset
This is intended and not a bug.
Final Phase: Defeating the Boss
After the wipe:
- Rebuild your team quickly
- Focus on raw DPS
- Units like Sasuke perform extremely well here due to high damage output
- Boss clones may spawn, but they are manageable with proper placement
Once the boss is defeated, the raid is fully cleared.
Final Tips for a Smooth Clear
- Always watch for green indicators in Act 1
- Count bosses carefully, not waves
- Rotate paths often in Act 2
- Avoid using units that accidentally damage Happy Innocents
- Expect a full reset after the barrel phase
The new Anime Vanguards raid is more of a logic and control challenge than a standard DPS check. Once you understand how Act 1 codes work and how to safely guide Happy Innocents in Act 2, the raid becomes consistent and repeatable. Take your time, watch the indicators, and the clear will come naturally after a few runs.
