Best Hytale Weapons Tier List for PVE and PVP!

Choosing the right weapon in Hytale can completely change how smooth your survival and combat experience feels. After extensive testing on both Survival PVE and dueling-focused PVP servers, some weapons clearly stand out more than others. This tier list is not based on raw DPS alone. Mobility, safety, charge skills, and how well each weapon performs in real combat situations all play a big role in the rankings below.

Before jumping into the tier list, keep in mind that the current endgame armor is Adamantite, which boosts light attack damage. Because of this, faster weapons and high base-damage weapons benefit the most. Also, only weapons available in Survival mode are included here.

Important Notes Before the Tier List

  • Adamantite armor favors weapons like Daggers and Maces due to attack speed and damage scaling
  • All DPS testing was done using Adamantite gear
  • Creative-only weapons such as spears, guns, and two-handed swords are excluded
  • Blocking stamina damage is currently the same for all weapons (except shields), giving faster weapons an advantage
  • Combining weapons like Dagger + Mace is very strong but resets Q charge when swapped

S-Tier Weapons (Best Overall)

Daggers

Daggers are easily one of the strongest weapons in the game due to their speed and unmatched mobility.

Strengths

  • Excellent movement using charge-attack bunny hopping
  • Very fast attack chains and quick Q charge
  • Safe hit-and-run playstyle thanks to backward bounce from charge attacks
  • Best non-shield weapon for blocking due to low recovery delay

Weaknesses

  • Slightly lower raw DPS compared to heavy weapons
  • Requires landing the final combo hit for maximum damage and Q gain

Tips

  • Jump right after landing a charge attack to bunny hop
  • Jump slightly before the charge attack for extra height
  • For better DPS, use multiple charge attacks before finishing with light attacks

Two-Handed Mace

The Mace dominates in raw damage and burst potential.

Strengths

  • Highest on-hit damage in the game
  • Strong DPS without relying on combo chains
  • Charge attacks hit multiple enemies
  • Extremely fast Q charge

Weaknesses

  • Very slow basic attacks
  • Charge attacks leave you exposed
  • Requires strong armor and good healing

Tips

  • Jump before activating Q for better positioning in PVP
  • Use Q to escape swarms or reset fights
  • Cancel charge attacks into block if your health drops
  • Pairing Mace with Daggers gives the best balance of damage and mobility

Bow

The Bow is the strongest ranged weapon currently available.

Strengths

  • High ranged DPS before or after engagements
  • Quick weapon swapping compared to crossbows
  • Strong close-range Q burst

Weaknesses

  • Requires charged shots and good aim
  • Q is strongest at close-to-mid range

Tips

  • Works very well after using Dagger charge attacks to create distance
  • Easy to craft and maintain compared to other survival games

A-Tier Weapons (Strong but Situational)

One-Handed Sword

A balanced weapon best used with a shield.

Strengths

  • Can be paired with a shield for strong defense
  • Shield bash is effective against groups
  • Charge attack allows bunny hopping for mobility

Weaknesses

  • Lowest DPS among melee weapons

Tips

  • The second hit of Q has a short delay, so aim carefully
  • Charge-attack bunny hopping offers solid traversal similar to Daggers

Hand Crossbow

A burst-focused ranged option with limitations.

Strengths

  • Higher burst damage than the Bow
  • Shield compatibility improves survivability

Weaknesses

  • Must reload after each use
  • Reload resets when switching weapons
  • Slow Q charge

Tips

  • Useful early game but falls off later
  • Would be top-tier if reloads persisted after swapping

B-Tier Weapons (Viable but Risky)

Two-Handed Axe

High damage but difficult to use effectively.

Strengths

  • Second-highest hit damage after Mace
  • Charge attacks allow bunny hopping
  • Q offers decent area damage

Weaknesses

  • Damage relies heavily on final combo hits
  • Slow attack speed and Q charge
  • Long vulnerability window during Q

Tips

  • Use charge-attack bunny hopping to stay safe
  • In PVP, enemies can easily dodge the final combo hit

Hytale’s combat system rewards smart positioning and weapon synergy more than raw stats. While heavy weapons like the Mace dominate damage charts, fast weapons such as Daggers shine through mobility and safety. For most players, combining different weapons based on the situation will always outperform sticking to just one. As the game continues to evolve, these rankings may shift, but for now, this tier list represents the most reliable and effective weapons available in Survival gameplay.
