Coral Bastion Fisch Guide, Location, Bestiary, Rod, Spear, and Reef Titan

The Tidefall update added several new underwater zones, but Coral Bastion stands out as one of the most important areas for mid to late-game progression. This zone is not only visually unique, but it also offers valuable unlocks like the Coral Rod, Coral Spear, and access to one of the rarest fish in the update, the Reef Titan.

This guide explains how to reach Coral Bastion, how to complete its Bestiary efficiently, and what rewards you can unlock along the way. Also check out our Fisch Codes for more rewards!

How to Reach Coral Bastion in Tidefall

Before accessing Coral Bastion, you must first enter the Tidefall region. Sail through the normal ocean until you find the underwater entrance, then dive straight down. Be careful of the pressure bar, as staying too long will cause you to die. Using a fast boat like the Tide Breaker is highly recommended.

Once underwater, pass between the two bridges and dive down through the gap near the submarine. Continue descending until you reach a waterfall that pulls you into the main Tidefall area. From the central merchant zone in Tidefall, turn left and glide past the bridge. This path leads directly to Coral Bastion.

Coral Bastion is a glowing coral-filled area with towers, shallow water, and a small pond in the center. Most of your fishing and grinding will happen here.

Coral Bastion Bestiary and Farming Tips

Most Coral Bastion fish can be obtained by fishing in the central pond or around the edges of the area. This makes it a solid grinding spot, especially since some enemies like Sand Tiger Sharks provide good experience.

However, several fish in this zone require crab cages. Near the central pond, you will find Coral Crab Cages. These function similarly to normal crab cages, and you can also use reinforced crab cages from Boreal Pines to speed things up and catch multiple fish at once.

If you are missing Bestiary entries, the most effective method is to place and open crab cages repeatedly until the remaining fish appear. This method also gives you a chance to obtain rare items like anchors used for other rods.

How to Get the Coral Rod

The Coral Rod is unlocked once you reach 50% Coral Bastion Bestiary completion. It can be purchased near the Coral Bastion area for 30,000 C$.

  • Lure Speed: 72%
  • Luck: 74%
  • Control: 0.02
  • Resilience: 40%
  • Max KG: 10,000
  • Bonus: +10% Progress Speed
  • Passive: Chance to apply Coral mutation

The Coral Rod is easy to obtain and performs well in Coral Bastion. While it is not a top-tier rod, the bonus progress speed and mutation chance make it a reliable option for completing the Bestiary, including higher rarity fish.

How to Get the Coral Spear

To unlock the Coral Spear, you need 75% Coral Bastion Bestiary completion. The spear costs 75,000 C$ and is located deeper within Coral Bastion.

Some Bestiary entries require spear fishing instead of rod fishing. You can use a basic spear, such as the Steady Spear from Lost Jungle, to hunt fish in shallow waters near the coral structures. Spear fishing these areas will help you unlock the remaining entries needed for the Coral Spear.

Once unlocked, the Coral Spear also has a chance to apply the Coral mutation and is very effective for fast spear fishing in this zone.

Reef Titan: The Rarest Fish in Coral Bastion

The Reef Titan is the rarest fish in Coral Bastion and is tied to a hunt event. Similar to Kraken or Scylla hunts, it spawns randomly while players are active in the area. You can track hunt activity using the fish radar, but the Reef Titan is hard to miss once it spawns.

It appears as a massive fish inside the small central pond. There is no confirmed preferred bait, so using your highest luck rod and best bait is recommended. Because the spawn is random, the best strategy is to continue grinding Coral Bastion until the hunt appears.

Coral Bastion is one of the most rewarding areas in the Tidefall update. It offers a smooth progression path through Bestiary completion, solid mid-game gear like the Coral Rod and Coral Spear, and the challenge of hunting the Reef Titan. By combining regular fishing, crab cage farming, and spear fishing, you can clear this zone efficiently and prepare yourself for tougher Tidefall content ahead.
