The Tidefall update adds more than just new areas and fish to Fisch. It also introduces three new essences that are closely tied to Mermaid-related progression and high-level crafting. Unlike normal fish, these essences cannot be obtained by fishing. Each one has a specific method, and one of them is locked behind a quest. This guide explains where to find Requis Essence, Tide Essence, and Thalass Essence, along with tips to farm them efficiently. Also check out our Fisch Codes for more rewards!
Where Essences Spawn in Fisch
All three essences are exclusive to the Tidefall region. You will not find them anywhere else in the game. However, each essence has a different unlock condition and collection method, so knowing the correct steps will save you a lot of time.
How to Get Requis Essence in Fisch
Requis Essence is the only essence that does not come from mining. It is rewarded after completing a quest.
To obtain it, you must finish the second Magical Diver quest in the Tidefall area. This quest requires you to submit the following items:
- Fallen Flying Gurnurd
- Omnithal
Once you hand in both fish, the quest will complete and the Requis Essence will be automatically added to your inventory.
You can find the Magical Diver NPC inside the Sunken Reliquary. If you do not see the quest option, make sure you have completed the earlier Magical Diver quest first.
How to Get Tide Essence in Fisch
Tide Essence is obtained by mining special stones called Dripstones. These stones do not appear naturally and only spawn during a specific event.
To farm Tide Essence, follow these steps:
- Trigger a Dripstone Collapse event .This can happen randomly using a sundial . Or manually by using a Dripstone Collapse Totem
- When the event starts, a system announcement will appear on the screen.
- Travel to the event location and look for Dripstone rocks.
- Use a pickaxe to mine the Dripstone. Tide Essence has a chance to drop when mining.
Keep in mind that drops are not guaranteed. You may need to mine multiple Dripstones before getting the essence.
How to Get Thalass Essence in Fisch
Thalass Essence is obtained in the exact same way as Tide Essence. During a Dripstone Collapse event:
- Mine Dripstones using a pickaxe
- Thalass Essence has a chance to drop alongside Tide Essence
There is also a chance to receive normal rocks instead, so repeated attempts are expected.
Dripstone Collapse Totem Location
If you want to trigger the event manually, you can buy the Dripstone Collapse Totem near the Fallen Rod location. The totem costs 35,000,000 C$, making it a late-game investment. Players without the totem usually rely on random event spawns instead.
Farming Tips for Dripstone Essences
- Always bring a pickaxe before entering Tidefall
- Stay alert for event announcements
- Mine every Dripstone you find during the collapse
- Expect low drop rates and plan multiple runs
Patience is key when farming Tide and Thalass Essence.
The Tidefall update adds depth to Fisch progression through Requis, Tide, and Thalass Essence. Each essence serves a different purpose and requires a unique method to obtain. Requis Essence is quest-based, while Tide and Thalass Essence rely on event-driven mining. By understanding these mechanics early, you can farm essences more efficiently and avoid unnecessary grinding later on.
