Making more honey in Bee Swarm Simulator is not just about grinding longer. Your hive setup plays a massive role in how much honey you earn and how fast you progress. Many players slow themselves down by using the wrong bees or building a hive that does not match their stage of the game.

This guide explains the best hive compositions from early game all the way to the point where you choose a hive color, so you can earn more honey and progress more efficiently. Also check out our Tier List Devil Hunter Contracts & Fiends Guide!

Why Hive Composition Matters

Your hive affects:

  • Honey production
  • Quest completion speed
  • Pollen collection
  • Token generation
  • Overall efficiency

Even with good gear, a poorly built hive will always hold you back. The goal is to use the right bees at the right time instead of rushing mythics too early.

Best Hive Setup for 25 Bees and Below

At this stage, your focus should be building a strong mixed hive that can handle all quest types. Key Bees to Aim For:

  • Shy Bees (around 4) – Extremely strong early game, especially for red quests
  • Music Bees (4) – Melody gives huge critical power and focus uptime
  • Baby Bees (3–4) – Baby Love gives double pollen and extra loot
  • Carpenter Bees – Honey Mark and Pollen Mark buffs
  • Frosty Bees – Strong for blue pollen and early honey grinding
  • Shocked Bee – Haste and Token Link
  • Looker Bee – Critical chance boost
  • Hasty Bee – Movement speed
  • Rad, Riley, Bucko Bees – Boosts for all hive colors
  • Commander Bee – Focus and damage utility

Do not worry if these bees are not gifted yet. The priority is having the correct types first.

Early Game Event Bees and Planters

Your first event bee should always be Tabby Bee. This is because:

  • Tabby Love stacks over time
  • Gifted Tabby is one of the strongest passives in the game

After Tabby, aim for Cobalt Bee, which is useful for blue pollen and sync abilities.

For nectar:

  • Use Paper Planters early on
  • Place them mainly in Dandelion Field
  • Comforting Nectar helps a lot early game
  • Sunflower Field is also a good secondary option

Nectar boosts matter more than most players realize.

Best Hive Setup Around 35 Bees

By now, you should have:

  • More honey
  • More gifted bees
  • A few Star Treats from quest lines

Core Focus at 35 Bees

  • 4 Music Bees – Permanent Melody uptime
  • 4 Baby Bees – Constant Baby Love
  • 2 Ninja Bees – Great blue synergy and speed
  • 5–6 Frosty Bees – Strong blue pollen farming
  • Multiple Shy Bees – Still useful for red quests
  • Bucko Bee (gifted if possible) – Capacity and blue boosts
  • Bumble Bee – Extra capacity
  • Commander, Looker, Shocked (gifted) – Core utility bees

At this stage, try to gift most legendary bees. Their gifted passives are extremely powerful and worth the effort.

Planters and Farming Tips Mid Game

As you progress:

  • Start using better planters
  • Place planters in high-value fields like Pine Tree and Sunflower
  • Macro if possible, especially in blue fields
  • Keep completing Panda Bear, Mother Bear, and Spirit Bear quests

This stage is all about building consistency before star eggs.

45 Bees and Pre–Star Egg Setup

Before using Star Eggs, your hive needs preparation.

Why This Matters

Star Eggs give a random gifted non-event, non-mythic bee that you do not already have gifted. If you miss a normal bee, you risk wasting the egg on a low-value gifted bee instead of a mythic.

What to Do

  • Make sure every normal and legendary bee (non-mythic, non-event) is already gifted
  • You can have duplicates of legendaries, but at least one of each must be gifted
  • This setup reduces the risk of wasting Star Eggs

Your honey gain may slow slightly here, but this step is extremely important long-term.

Using Star Eggs and Moving Forward

After using your Star Eggs:

  • Your hive should include at least 2 gifted mythics
  • Maintain core bees like Music, Baby, Ninja, Frosty, Commander, and Shy
  • Stay mixed hive until you complete around 20 Spirit Bear quests

Once you unlock key items like the belt, wand, and Supreme Saturator, you can safely transition.

Early Blue Hive Recommendation

After reaching the SSA stage, an early blue hive is the best option for most players. Early Blue Hive Tips:

  • Focus on blue pollen bees
  • Use Bumble, Frosty, Ninja, and Bucko Bees
  • Replace weaker bees as you get mythics over time
  • Equip blue-friendly bee equips like Pine Cones and Snow-themed items
  • Stack as much nectar as possible

Nectar and planters become the biggest source of honey at this point.

The fastest way to make more honey in Bee Swarm Simulator is not rushing mythics or copying endgame hives too early. Building the right hive for your progression stage makes everything easier, from quests to farming to honey gain. Stay mixed early, prepare properly before Star Eggs, and move into blue only when your gear and progress support it. With the right hive setup, your honey income will increase naturally and consistently.
