As your base grows in Arknights: Endfield, power quickly becomes one of the biggest limits. Relay towers, mining nodes across the map, and high-level machines can push your power usage far beyond the early-game cap. Many players hit a wall around 200 power and are unsure how to scale further without breaking their setup.
The good news is that the game provides a very strong solution that can boost your base power by hundreds with only a small amount of space. This guide explains how to unlock massive power generation, how Thermal Banks work, and how to automate battery production for long-term power stability. Unlocking the Thermal Bank for Massive Power
To increase your base power beyond 200, you first need access to the second technology tree. Open the tech menu and look for the Power I node in the second tier. Unlocking this node gives you access to the Thermal Bank, which is one of the strongest power generators in the game.The Thermal Bank can use two different fuel sources:
- Originium Ore
- LC Valley Batteries
Both work, but the power output is very different, which is why choosing the right fuel matters.
How Thermal Banks Generate Power
When powered with Originium Ore, a Thermal Bank provides:
- 50 power per ore
- Processing time of around 8 seconds
This option is very easy to maintain if you already have excess Originium Ore. At mid-game, many players have thousands of ore sitting unused, making this a cheap and reliable power boost.
When powered with Batteries, a Thermal Bank becomes much stronger:
- 220 power per battery
- Processing time of around 40 seconds
A single Thermal Bank running on batteries can generate more power than your entire early-game core. With just two Thermal Banks using batteries, it is possible to jump from around 500 power to well over 700.
Setting Up Thermal Banks in Your Base
To make this work smoothly, you will need to use the Bus Depot system. Upgrading your Bus Depot increases the number of input and output slots, making automation much easier.
From the construction menu:
- Use Depot Unloaders to pull items from the core
- Use Depot Loaders to send items back into storage
Place Depot Unloaders on the side of your Bus Depot and connect them to Thermal Banks using conveyor belts. Make sure power pylons are placed between lines so all machines receive electricity.
You can mix fuel types if needed. Many players use Originium Ore for one Thermal Bank and batteries for another, depending on resource availability.
How to Make Batteries Automatically
To sustain battery-powered Thermal Banks, automation is essential. Batteries are crafted using the Packaging Unit, which is unlocked through Packaging Technology in the skill tree.
Battery crafting requires:
- Originium Powder
- Amethyst Parts
To produce Originium Powder, send Originium Ore into a Shredding Unit. The output powder can be stored directly in the core.
To produce Amethyst Parts:
- Refine Amethyst into Amethyst Fiber
- Process Amethyst Fiber in a Fitting Unit
- Store the resulting parts in the core
Once both materials are available, connect them to a Packaging Unit using Depot Unloaders. The Packaging Unit will output batteries, which should be sent back into the core using a Depot Loader.
From there, the batteries can be automatically pulled out and fed into Thermal Banks. This setup allows your power generation to run without manual input.
Best Battery Usage Strategy
While batteries provide huge power, they take time to produce. For balance, it is recommended to:
- Use batteries on only one or two Thermal Banks
- Use Originium Ore on the rest
This prevents battery shortages while still giving you a massive power boost. Over-scaling battery usage too early can create production bottlenecks.
Using Blueprints for Easy Replication
Once your power setup is working, saving it as a Blueprint is highly recommended. This allows you to rebuild or relocate the entire power system instantly. Just make sure your base has the required Bus Depot upgrades before placing the blueprint, or the layout will not fit correctly. Blueprints are especially useful if you plan to expand or rebuild your main core later.
Power scaling in Arknights: Endfield is not meant to stop at 200. With Thermal Banks, proper Bus Depot usage, and automated battery production, it is possible to push your base power far beyond early limits with minimal space.
