Building a strong base in Arknights Endfield is not just about combat. Your real progress depends on how well you manage ore farming, power, and crafting machines. Many players follow the tutorial and end up with slow and messy setups that waste space and time.

This guide explains how to build an efficient auto mining system and crafting layout that works smoothly from early to mid game without bottlenecks. Also check out our Arknights Endfield Codes for more rewards!

How to Set Up Auto Ore Farms

Step 1 — Replace portable rigs with electric rigs

  1. Find ore nodes on the map and place an Electric Mining Rig on each node instead of leaving the basic portable rig.
  2. Electric rigs automatically send ores back to your base — far better than manual portable rigs.
  3. Fill every mining node you can; you’ll need large amounts of ore later.

Step 2 — Build the power network

  1. Start power at your base. Place a Relay Tower near your base and connect it to a chain of relay towers toward the mining zone.
  2. Use Transmission Cables to link towers and extend power. Aim to place as few relay towers as needed while keeping cable distance limits in mind.
  3. Place Electric Pylons near rigs and buildings. Use the pylon’s blue highlight to see which machines it will cover. Move the pylon to cover the most machines possible without leaving any out of range.
  4. If a rig or building is out of range, add another pylon and run a transmission cable to it.

Step 3 — Auto-mining setup and check

  • Once powered, rigs will mine and send ore to your depot roughly every 10 seconds.
  • Monitor the depot to confirm ores (originium, amethyst, etc.) are arriving.
  • If production seems slow, check power links and pylon coverage first.

Step 4 — Smart refining layout (avoid backups)

Mistake to avoid: placing a refining unit and using all three input lanes for the same raw ore. That causes the refinery to cap at 50 and creates huge backups. Correct approach:

  1. Use one input lane and one output lane for heavy-flow ores like originium and amethyst. That keeps input slightly above output so the refinery runs at full efficiency without clogging.
  2. Place the Refining Unit one tile away from the main conveyor line (not directly on the corner). This leaves a 4-block gap you can use for an Electric Pylon. The pylon in that gap can power the unit and adjacent tiles efficiently.
  3. If a refinery shows “capped at 50,” reduce the number of input lanes or increase downstream processing speed.

Step 5 — Efficient gearing unit setup (fast crafting components)

  1. Gearing Units take two refined resources (for example: refined originium crust + amethyst fiber) and craft components.
  2. Place the gear unit one block away from belt outputs, line it up so arrows point outwards, and rotate with R as needed.
  3. Run conveyor belts from your main storage to the gearing unit inputs. Run a single output belt from the gearing unit into your main collection/chamber.
  4. A properly fed gearing unit will complete a component every ~10 seconds and will hold small batches (it fills with parts quickly so production is continuous).
  5. Use multiple gearing units in parallel if you need large quantities — each unit needs only one input line per resource and one output.

Step 6 — Molding unit and further crafting

  1. Place molding or other craft units similarly — one block offset so a pylon can fit in the gap.
  2. Set their inputs to the refined material required (e.g., amethyst fiber) and run belts from storage or from the refining output.
  3. Route the molding unit’s output back to your main collection chamber.

Layout tips for space and efficiency

  • Aim to cluster facilities around pylons so one pylon covers a whole square. Put a pylon on each corner of your base for even coverage.
  • Leave one-block gaps where pylons must sit — this lets you tuck power neatly without wasting tiles.
  • Use conveyor belts to shorten travel distance from refineries to crafting units; fewer turns = faster throughput.
  • One lane in / one lane out on refineries saves space and avoids overflow. Don’t use all three lanes unless you fully understand downstream throughput.

A tidy power grid, one-lane refineries, and well-placed gearing units make a massive difference. This layout keeps ores flowing, prevents backups, and saves space so you can build more machines later. Set up a few of these blocks early, and you’ll have steady component production for every AIC pack and character upgrade you need.
