Another hidden rod, another quest designed to test how stubborn players can be. Dave Rod is one of the most bizarre and secretive rods ever added to Fisch Roblox. Not because it looks impressive, but because unlocking it requires extreme patience and one of the rarest Divine Secrets in the entire game.
Many players assumed this rod was already usable after earlier updates, only to later realize it was still locked behind a deeply hidden quest. This guide explains every step needed to obtain Dave Rod in a clear and straightforward way, so you know exactly what you are signing up for. Also check out our Fisch Codes for more rewards!
Where to Start the Dave Rod Quest
The first step is finding the NPC named Dave. He is located at Ark, which sits to the right of the Statue of Sovereignty, past the Castaway Cliffs area. Once you reach Ark, your goal is to climb all the way to the top. There are two ways to get up:
- Manually parkour using jumps and wall climbs, which is slow and exhausting
- Use a Velocity Coil to reach the top quickly and safely
At the very top, you will meet Dave. When you talk to him, he gives almost no explanation. He only says that he wants a rock.
First Quest: Boulder (Divine Secret)
After speaking with Dave, you unlock the first quest. He asks you to bring him a Boulder. This is not a normal item. Boulder is a Divine Secret with an estimated drop rate of 1 in 1,000,000. Every time someone catches it, a global announcement appears across all servers. There is no shortcut here, only extreme luck and persistence.
Where to Fish for Boulder
Boulder can only be obtained by fishing at Keeper’s Altar.
Steps to reach Keeper’s Altar:
- Return to the Statue of Sovereignty
- Enter the Sovereignty Mines
- Speak with the NPC named Cole
- Use the elevator, either by paying once or unlocking permanent access for 100,000 coins
- Descend to Keeper’s Altar and start fishing
There are no tricks, boosts, or secret methods that guarantee Boulder. This part of the quest is pure endurance.
Second Quest: Collect 250 Rock
Once you finally obtain Boulder, return to the top of Ark and show it to Dave. The quest does not end there.
Dave then asks for 250 Rock.
Rock details:
- Type: Trash
- Preferred bait: Magnet
- Can be caught in many locations
Best Places to Farm Rock
Players commonly farm Rock in these locations:
- Sunstone near the sundial
- Mine Shaft Sunstone
- Sanctum inside Cultist Lair, which reportedly has the highest Rock chance
Important notes:
- The quest does not track progress gradually
- You must have all 250 Rock in your inventory at once
- Rock is removed after being handed to Dave
- Boulder is not consumed and stays in your inventory
- Rock can be self-farmed, traded, or donated by other players
Final Quest: The Last Special Rock
After turning in 250 Rock, Dave still wants one more thing. He asks for a final special rock.
If you already have an extra Rock in your inventory, simply talk to Dave again and hand it over. The quest immediately completes.
Dave Rod Stats and Effects
Completing all quest steps rewards you with Dave Rod.

Unique Ability of Dave Rod
Dave Rod has one special feature that no other rod offers:
- Every time you catch Rock, every player on the server also receives Rock
This makes Dave Rod incredibly useful for helping others complete the 250 Rock quest.
Important warning:
- Boulder is a Divine Secret
- Lending or trading carelessly can lead to scams
- Always be cautious when interacting with other players during this quest
Dave Rod is not meant for everyone. The quest is long, the odds are brutal, and the patience required is extreme. Still, it stands out as one of the most community-driven rods in Fisch Roblox. One player with Dave Rod can help many others progress faster, turning a painful grind into a shared effort. If you are willing to face a one-in-a-million challenge and endure a heavy grind, Dave Rod is one of the most iconic and unusual rods you can add to your collection.
