Best Stat to Invest Solo Hunters Guide!

Stat allocation is one of the most misunderstood systems in Solo Hunters. Many players end up weak not because of bad gear, but because they invest their stat points in the wrong places. This guide explains exactly what each stat does, which builds are currently meta, and how to distribute your points correctly based on whether you play melee or ability-focused builds. If you are unsure why your damage feels low or why enemies hit too hard, this guide will clear up all the confusion. Also check out our Solo Hunter Codes for more rewards!

All Stats in Solo Hunters Explained

Solo Hunters has five main stats you can invest in. Each one serves a very specific purpose, and mixing them incorrectly will hurt your build.

Agility

Agility only affects movement speed. It does not increase damage, cooldowns, or survivability. Its value comes from faster dungeon clears and smoother mobility during repeated runs. This stat becomes more important in mid to late game when efficiency matters.

Energy

Energy controls your dash count. More energy means more dodges, allowing you to avoid enemy attacks more often. Energy does not boost skills or damage. It exists purely for mobility and survivability. Every build should have at least some energy to escape attacks.

Defense

Defense increases how much damage you can take. This stat is extremely important for melee builds, since you are constantly fighting enemies at close range. For ability-based builds, defense is still useful, but you can invest less since you usually fight from a distance.

Strength

Strength only affects true melee weapons, meaning weapons that are placed in the sword slot and use left-click attacks. If your damage source is an ability, strength will do absolutely nothing for it.

Magic Power

Magic Power boosts all abilities, including skill-based weapons that look like swords but are actually classified as abilities. Any build that relies on abilities must invest heavily into magic power.

Melee vs Ability Builds: The Most Important Rule

Before investing a single stat point, you must decide how you deal damage. How to Tell if Your Weapon Is Melee or Ability:

  • If the weapon appears in the sword slot, it is melee
  • If it appears in the ability slot, it scales with magic power

For example, weapons like Divine Blade may look like swords, but they are abilities. Investing strength into them will not increase damage at all.

This mistake is the biggest reason many players feel underpowered.

Best Stat Build for Melee Players (META)

Melee builds are currently considered stronger due to consistent damage and no cooldown reliance. Recommended Melee Stat Distribution:

  • Defense: 200–300 points
  • Strength: Remaining points
  • Agility: 50–100 points
  • Energy: 20–50 points
  • Magic Power: 0 points

Defense keeps you alive during close combat, while strength scales your sword damage directly. Agility improves dungeon clear speed, and energy provides enough dashes to dodge attacks.

Best Stat Build for Ability Players

Ability builds rely entirely on skills rather than left-click attacks.

  • Magic Power: 80% or more of total points
  • Defense: Moderate investment
  • Energy: Small investment
  • Agility: Optional
  • Strength: 0 points

If you are using ability-based weapons, strength should never be touched. Magic power is your main damage source, and everything else exists only for survivability and movement.

For melee builds, defense is essential. Even with high damage, you will struggle if enemies can one-shot you. Ability users can get away with less defense, but having some investment prevents deaths from unexpected hits or boss mechanics.

Class Synergy With Stat Builds

Classes slightly change how effective certain builds are.

Best Classes for Melee Builds

  • Tank (Best overall survivability, current meta)
  • Assassin (Likely sword-focused, damage-oriented)

Tank is currently the safest and strongest choice for melee players.

Best Classes for Ability Builds

  • Mage (Best synergy with magic power)
  • Summoner (Extra survivability and utility)

If your main damage comes from abilities, Mage is the ideal class choice.

Knight Class Warning

Knight is generally considered weak compared to other classes. However, it is still better than having no class at all. If it is your only option early on, use it until you can reroll.

Solo Hunters rewards players who commit to a clear build path. Strength is for melee, magic power is for abilities, and defense keeps you alive. Agility and energy improve movement but should never replace your main damage stats.

Once you align your stats with your weapon type and class, your damage and survivability will improve immediately. Stop spreading points randomly, lock in a build, and your dungeon runs will become faster, safer, and far more efficient.
