Ferrium Ore Arknights: Endfield Guide – Location, Requirements, and Efficient Farming!
Ferrium Ore is an advanced material in Arknights: Endfield that becomes important after you move past Amethyst. This resource is mainly used for base upgrades and high-tier component production, making it a key material for mid to late game progression. Also check out our Arknights Endfield Codes for more rewards!
The problem is that Ferrium Ore does not appear in early areas and cannot be mined with basic equipment. You need specific story progress, technology unlocks, and a proper power setup before you can start farming it. This guide explains where to find Ferrium Ore, what you need to unlock first, and how to farm it efficiently without wasting time or resources.
Ferrium Ore Location in Arknights: Endfield

Ferrium Ore can only be found in the Originium Science Park region. This area is not accessible at the start of the game. You will unlock it after progressing through the main story that leads east from the Hub Area. Inside Originium Science Park, Ferrium Ore appears as mining nodes in several locations, including:
- The main area near the Science Park entrance
- An additional node not far from the entrance zone
- Multiple nodes along the upper-right cliffside path
There are enough Ferrium Ore nodes to support long-term farming, as long as your power distribution system is set up properly.
Required Technology to Mine Ferrium Ore
Ferrium Ore cannot be mined using standard Mining Rigs. A specific technology upgrade is required.
Steps you must complete:
- Continue the main story in Originium Science Park with Ivonne
- This progression unlocks Basic AIC 3
- After that, unlock Mining 3 in the Technology Tree
Mining 3 grants access to the Electric Mining Rig MK2, which is the only tool capable of mining Ferrium Ore. Once unlocked, you will receive three Electric Mining Rig MK2 units for free.
Unlocking Outpost Infestation for Stable Farming
To farm Ferrium Ore consistently, you also need access to Outpost Infestation.
How to unlock it:
- Open the Quest Log
- Go to Main Missions
- Find the quest called Outpost Infestation
- Complete it after progressing Ivonne’s storyline in Originium Science Park
Once unlocked, the Outpost allows you to distribute electricity from the main station to Ferrium Ore mining locations.
How to Supply Power to Ferrium Ore Nodes
Ferrium Ore mining requires a stable electricity supply. The basic setup works like this:
- Connect power from the Outpost to a Relay Tower
- Extend the line using additional Relay Towers if needed
- Place an Electric Pylon near the Ferrium Ore node
- Connect the Electric Pylon to the power network
For nodes located on the upper cliff areas, you can use upgrades that allow Electric Pylons to connect directly to other pylons, even at shorter distances. This helps reduce resource usage while maintaining power flow.
Installing the Electric Mining Rig MK2
Once power is active:
- Open your inventory
- Place the Electric Mining Rig MK2 on a Ferrium Ore node
- Confirm the rig is receiving power from an Electric Pylon
- Mining will start automatically
Each MK2 rig produces 1 Ferrium Ore every 3 seconds, matching the speed of older mining rigs. The MK2 does not consume extra power or operate slower, so there is no downside to using it.
You do not need to replace all your existing rigs. Use MK2 units specifically for Ferrium Ore nodes only.
Tips for Efficient Ferrium Ore Farming
To maximize efficiency:
- Use Electric Mining Rig MK2 only on Ferrium Ore nodes
- Minimize Relay Tower usage to save resources
- Secure power lines from enemy interference
- Craft additional MK2 rigs if you want faster production
Ferrium Ore is automatically processed into Ferrium and can be used directly for advanced crafting and base upgrades.
Ferrium Ore is a crucial material in the mid to late game of Arknights: Endfield, and it cannot be obtained without proper preparation. By unlocking Originium Science Park, researching Mining 3, and activating Outpost Infestation, you gain full access to stable Ferrium Ore farming.
Once your power network and mining rigs are set up correctly, Ferrium Ore production runs automatically with minimal supervision. This makes base expansion, advanced crafting, and endgame progression much smoother in the long run.
