All Corrupted Items Guide in 99 Nights in the Forest Guide, Where to Find & More!

The Corrupted Items system is one of the biggest additions to 99 Nights in the Forest, introduced alongside the Hard Mode and Corruption System update on January 31, 2026. These items are much stronger than standard tools and weapons, making them extremely valuable for survival in late-game runs.

However, there is a trade-off. Corrupted Items increase your corruption buildup, which can make the game more dangerous if not managed properly. In this guide, we will break down all Corrupted Items available in 99 Nights in the Forest and explain how you can unlock them step by step. List of All Corrupted Items in 99 Nights in the Forest

Currently, there are five Corrupted Items that players can obtain during a run. Each one has unique strengths and visual effects.

Corrupted Axe

Type: Tool
This axe allows you to cut down trees much faster than normal axes, making resource farming far more efficient.

Corrupted Thrown Axe

Type: Weapon
A set of throwable axes that can be used repeatedly without running out. Useful for ranged combat and crowd control.

Corrupted Revolver

Type: Weapon
A purple-stained revolver that requires ammo. It offers strong damage compared to early firearms.

Corrupted Shotgun

Type: Weapon
An old shotgun wrapped in purple roots. It deals massive damage at close range and is especially effective inside rift zones.

Corrupted Armour

Type: Armor
Heavy, rusted armor with a corrupted purple glow. It greatly improves survivability but causes corruption to build up much faster.

All Corrupted Items share a distinct appearance, covered in purple roots and dark textures that clearly separate them from regular equipment.

How to Unlock Corrupted Items

Obtaining Corrupted Items is not instant. You must first activate Hard Mode and progress through several steps.

Step 1: Enable Hard Mode

Hard Mode must be manually activated early in the run.

Here is how to do it:

  • Start chopping trees from Day 1 to collect wood
  • Use the wood to upgrade your campsite to Level 2
  • This unlocks the Research Outpost near your base
  • Enter the basement through the vault doors
  • Inside, locate the lever labeled with your Roblox username
  • Pull the lever before Day 3 ends

When Day 3 begins, a cutscene will play. After that, Hard Mode activates and the Corruption System becomes active across the entire map.

Step 2: Continue Upgrading Your Campsite

After Hard Mode is active, keep upgrading your campsite.

Higher campsite levels:

  • Unlock more areas of the map
  • Increase the chance of encountering Corrupted Chests
  • Make exploration safer and more efficient

Progression is important, as Corrupted Items only appear in later stages of the run.

Step 3: Locate Corrupted Chests

Once Hard Mode is active, Corrupted Chests begin spawning throughout the forest.

You can identify them easily:

  • Large, rusted metal chests
  • Floating slightly above the ground
  • Wrapped in glowing purple roots

Corrupted Chests usually appear near:

  • Rifts
  • Mutated trees
  • Corrupted animals

Each chest can only be opened once per run, so exploring the entire map gives you the best chance to collect multiple Corrupted Items.

Corrupted Items in 99 Nights in the Forest offer a huge power boost, especially in Hard Mode. Faster tools, stronger weapons, and tougher armor can completely change how a run plays out. Still, the corruption buildup they cause means players must balance power and risk carefully.

By activating Hard Mode early, upgrading your campsite, and thoroughly exploring the map for Corrupted Chests, you can unlock every Corrupted Item available and gain a major advantage during long survival runs.
