Anime Paradox Progression Guide, How to Become the Best!

Anime Paradox is no longer the slow grind it used to be. After recent fixes, the game now follows a much faster tower defense progression style, making it more beginner-friendly and rewarding for new players. Also check out our Anime Paradox Codes for more rewards!

If you want to move quickly, get strong units early, and avoid wasting gems or resources, this guide breaks down everything you need to know from your first login to endgame farming. This guide focuses on fast progression, unit priority, gem farming, and game modes you should (and should not) rush early on.

1. Story Stages: Your Main Progression Path

The fastest way to progress early is by clearing Story Stages. First-time clears give the highest gem rewards in the game.

First Clear Gem Rewards

  • Normal Stages: 250 gems
  • Nightmare Stages: 500 gems
  • Legend Stages: 1,000 gems
  • Raid Acts 1–2: 1,500 gems each
  • Raid Act 3: 3,000 gems

Because of this, story content should always be your top priority before repeating any stage.

For early Normal stages, Red units are enough. However, you should aim to get at least one Legendary unit as soon as possible. If you are lucky enough to pull a Mythic, use it immediately.

2. Best Starter Units for Beginners

Not all units are worth chasing early. Focus on units that can carry you through Story and Nightmare stages without heavy investment.

Recommended Early Units

  • Grim Draw – Solid early DPS
  • Rod Dark – Reliable and easy to use
  • Any Legendary DPS – Most Legendaries are strong enough for early content

If you have Mega from AFK rewards, use her. While she is not top-tier, she is good enough to clear Normal and Nightmare stages efficiently.

3. Best Unit to Get First: Kilawa

If you are deciding on one unit to prioritize, Kilawa should be your first target.

Why Kilawa Is So Strong

  • One of the best units in the game
  • Easy to evolve
  • Does not require stage-specific challenges
  • Only needs essences, which can be bought from merchants

You earn plenty of gold from summoning, so buying essences early is very manageable. This makes Kilawa the most beginner-friendly high-value unit in Anime Paradox.

4. Best Farm Unit: Bulma

Every team needs a farm unit, and Bulma is currently the best one in the game.

You only need one farm unit per stage, so do not over-invest in multiple farm characters. Bulma provides enough money to fully upgrade your DPS units during matches, which removes the need to stress about perfect traits early on.

5. Summoning and Early Tier List Priorities

Once you clear some Normal stages and collect gems, start summoning.

Early Summon Priority

  1. Broly
  2. Kilawa
  3. Bulma (Farm unit)

Avoid buffer or idol-type units early. Buffs are not important in the early game and slow down your progression.

6. Nightmare and Legend Stages: What to Farm

After finishing Normal stages, immediately move into Nightmare Stages, then Legend Stages.

Best Stages for Repeated Gem Farming

  • Normal repeat: 25 gems
  • Nightmare repeat: 50 gems
  • Legend repeat: 100 gems
  • Raids: 150 gems (very difficult early)

Legend Stages are the best balance of difficulty and reward. Raids give more gems but are far harder and not worth farming early.

7. How to Get Ichigo (First Secret Unit)

Your first major goal after finishing Nightmare and Legend stages should be Ichigo.

  • Ichigo is a powerful secret unit
  • Essential for Siege and later game modes
  • Worth farming before doing anything else

Once you get Ichigo:

  • Aim for at least an Epic trait
  • Mythic trait is ideal
  • Avoid Blessing trait, as Ichigo does not need healing

8. Siege Mode vs Raid Mode

Do Siege Mode First

Siege mode is infinite and much easier than raids. With a decent team, you can earn around 100 resources every 50 minutes.

Avoid Raids Early

Raid mode is extremely difficult, especially Act 3. Even strong teams struggle here. Only start raids after:

  • You unlock Egress
  • You evolve Egress
  • Your team has strong traits

9. Best Unit Placement Strategy

A simple but effective strategy for most stages:

  1. Place DPS units first near spawn points
  2. Place farm units far from enemies
  3. Upgrade farm units safely until new spawn points appear
  4. Stack DPS units together (stacking is allowed)
  5. Max farm units early, then fully upgrade DPS

Legend units can be placed strategically to slow enemies and protect your base.

Healing units are important in some stages because low-trait units have low HP and can get eliminated quickly.

10. Fastest Ways to Farm Gems

  1. Complete all first clears (Normal, Nightmare, Legend, Raid Acts 1–2)
  2. Farm Legend stages repeatedly
  3. Do Race stages up to Act 2
  4. Claim quest, milestone, and level rewards
  5. Premium players can use Time Chamber for extra rewards

11. How to Get Trait Rolls and Gold

Trait Rolls

Currently limited sources:

  • Battle Pass
  • Level milestones
  • Challenges
  • Merchant shop (limited per hour)
  • Race Shop and Sea Shop (100 each)

Prioritize Egress first from the Sea Shop. It takes a very long time to unlock, and delaying it will slow your entire progression.

Gold Farming

  • Summon and sell unwanted units
  • Sell Red and Legendary duplicates
  • Farm Legend stages

Always keep duplicates of important units since you need them for Ascension.

Anime Paradox rewards players who follow a smart progression path. Focus on story clears, prioritize Kilawa and Bulma, farm Legend stages, and secure Ichigo before touching harder content like raids. Do not rush traits or endgame modes too early, as proper setup saves massive time later. If you follow this progression route, you will build a strong account efficiently without wasting gems, gold, or trait rolls.
