All YapYap Monster Guide, How to Beat Them!

Runs in YapYap rarely fail because of one mistake. Most wipes happen when players don’t understand how each monster works and end up reacting instead of planning. Every enemy in the tower has clear weaknesses, and once you learn their behavior, surviving becomes much more consistent. This guide explains all monsters in YapYap and the safest ways to counter each one. Also check out our YapYap Potion Guide for new players!

1. Goblins

Goblins are the most common enemies you will face. They are fast, fragile, and harmless on their own, but they become dangerous when they appear in groups. Their strength comes from crowding you in tight spaces where movement options disappear.

The best counter to Goblins is positioning. The Wind Wand is extremely effective because it pushes them back and creates space to escape. If you want to farm points safely, Piss-Yuk is a strong option since it damages them without instantly removing your farming opportunity.

Always fight Goblins in open areas when possible. Keep an exit route visible and avoid corners or narrow corridors where they can surround you. If you ever feel boxed in, prioritize escaping over fighting.

2. Guards

Guards are heavily armored knights that hit extremely hard. Two clean hits are usually enough to end a run. They move slowly and struggle with terrain, but underestimating them is one of the fastest ways to lose progress.

You should rarely try to fight Guards directly. Instead, aim to shoot off their helmet to earn points, then disengage. Terrain is your biggest advantage. Guards cannot climb well, so elevated platforms and obstacles give you safe repositioning options.

The Duplico spell is also useful for creating distractions. A decoy can pull their attention long enough for you to escape or reset your position. Treat Guards as hazards to manage, not enemies to duel.

3. The Eye

The Eye acts like a stationary turret that fires a damaging laser from range. It does not chase you, but it often spawns in areas that force awkward movement and pressure you into mistakes.

The only reliable counter is breaking line of sight. Walls, pillars, and corners completely block its laser. Use cover to move between safe spots instead of trying to tank damage.

The real danger of The Eye is distraction. While you are focused on avoiding its beam, other monsters can close in. Before dealing with it, make sure your escape path is clear so you are not trapped between threats.

4. The Slime

The Slime is a slow, gelatinous enemy that rarely kills players by itself. Its danger comes from area control. It can block stairways and narrow corridors, cutting off escape routes at the worst possible time.

Never ignore the Slime’s position. Always plan your movement so it is not sitting between you and an exit. This becomes especially important in later stages when multiple enemies are active at once.

Avoid dead ends when a Slime is nearby. If it seals a passage while other monsters are chasing you, the situation can quickly become impossible to recover.

5. Time Ghost

The Time Ghost is a built-in fail condition rather than a standard enemy. It appears automatically when the level timer reaches zero and instantly ends the run for everyone still inside.

There is no way to fight or outrun the Time Ghost. The only counter is time management. Keep an eye on the clock and prioritize extraction or objectives before the timer expires.

Every monster in YapYap is designed to pressure your movement and decision-making. Goblins punish poor positioning, Guards punish greed, The Eye punishes bad awareness, and the Slime punishes careless routing. On top of that, the Time Ghost forces you to respect the clock at all times.

Once you start reading enemy behavior instead of reacting blindly, runs become far more controlled. Learning when to disengage, how to use terrain, and how to protect your escape routes is what separates consistent clears from repeated wipes.
