Ghoul Re Update 4 Guide, Yukimura, Codes & More!

Ghoul Re Update 4 brings one of the biggest gameplay changes the game has seen in a while. This patch introduces a major quinque upgrade, a full refresh of boss raids, and several quality-of-life improvements that affect both PvE and competitive play. If you want to understand what changed and how to take advantage of the new systems, this guide covers everything included in Update 4. Also check out our Ghoul Re Codes for more rewards!

Yukimura V3 Quinque Upgrade Explained

The highlight of Update 4 is the new Yukimura V3 upgrade. This version improves your mastery of the weapon and unlocks dual wielding, which greatly expands your combo options. Yukimura V3 adds several new abilities:

Shukuchi Slash

This move performs a fast forward dash that drags enemies along your path. When used at very close range, it turns into a grab attack that kicks the enemy away. It works well as both an engage tool and a combo extender.

Trapezius Anchor

You leap forward with both katanas, slamming into the target and ragdolling them. There is also a special mechanic tied to this skill. If you use it right after landing a critical hit, you teleport behind the enemy and trigger a stronger version of the attack. This makes timing and combo setup more important.

Flesh Cutter

Flesh Cutter starts with a quick slash and follows with a rapid series of strikes. The barrage stuns nearby enemies and ends with a knockback. It is strong for crowd control and pressure in close combat.

Switch Mechanic

The new Switch ability lets you toggle between dual mode and single mode. Changing modes during combat improves combo flow and gives experienced players more flexibility in fights.

Boss Raid Refresh and New Systems

Update 4 also reworks the boss raid experience with several new systems.

New Boss Raid Interface

Boss raids now have a dedicated UI. You can view available parties, enter matchmaking, and select modifiers directly from this interface. The layout is cleaner and makes organizing runs much easier.

Global Matchmaking

A new matchmaking system allows you to queue with players across the entire game. This reduces wait times and makes it easier to find groups for raids, even during off-peak hours.

Modifier System

Boss raids now support optional modifiers that increase difficulty in exchange for better rewards.

Available modifiers include:

  • Hardcore: The party shares one life. If any member dies, the raid fails. Increases luck by 20%.
  • Rage: The boss deals 1.5× damage in an enraged state. Increases luck by 50%.
  • Tank: The boss has double health. Increases luck by 60%.
  • Timer: Adds a 5-minute time limit to defeat the boss. Increases luck by 30%.

Stacking the right modifiers can significantly boost your loot, but it also raises the risk of failure.

Quality of Life Improvements

Several quality-of-life changes arrive with Update 4.

New ELO Titles

Players ranked in the top 10 of the ELO leaderboard now receive custom colored name tags based on their placement. This adds visible prestige to competitive rankings.

Persistent Settings

Game settings no longer reset after wipes. Your preferences now stay saved, reducing the need to reconfigure options.

New Official Factions

Two official factions have been added: Helter Skelter and GOAT. These factions expand the social and competitive structure of the game.

New Ghoul Re Update 4 Codes

Update 4 includes two new redeemable codes that grant free GP:

  • UPDATE4.0 — 350 GP
  • YUKIMURAV3 — 350 GP

Redeem them as soon as possible, since update codes are often time-limited.

Ghoul Re Update 4 focuses on expanding combat depth and improving cooperative play. Yukimura V3 adds a more advanced fighting style, while the boss raid overhaul encourages teamwork and higher-risk challenges. Combined with the new codes and quality-of-life upgrades, this patch offers plenty of reasons to jump back in and explore the updated systems.
