How to Access the Valentides Event Area
After loading into the game, head to Moosewood and find the event portal on the left side. Entering it takes you to Sweetheart Shores, the main hub for the Valentides update.
Most quests and event shops are located here. However, some global events like Love Storms still occur in the main world, so you will need to travel back and forth during your progress.
Duo System and Main NPCs
This update is built around a duo system that rewards players for teaming up.
Duo System Explained
You can invite another player as your duo from the bottom-left menu. Playing with a partner makes quests easier and unlocks special event features. While solo play is possible, many mechanics work better or faster with a duo partner.
Sarah and Sweetheart Sam
Two main NPCs handle the event quests:
- Sarah gives repeatable quests used to farm chocolate
- Sweetheart Sam provides the main storyline quests
Completing Sam’s questline is essential because it unlocks key items and progression for the event.
How to Catch the Dove (Secret Quest)
One of the hardest steps is catching the rare Dove. Go to the bench area near the waterfall and sit with your duo partner for around 20–30 seconds. The water will turn pink, which activates the special fishing zone where Dove can spawn. Important Dove conditions:
- Preferred weather: rain
- Time: nighttime
- Season: winter
- Bait: event chocolate bait
- Rarity: extremely rare
Solo players cannot trigger the pink water themselves, so they must wait for another duo to activate it.
Waterfall Secret Area and Sam’s Hints
Behind the waterfall is a hidden area that contains several important features:
- A quest from Seraphin
- A shop selling the Valentine’s Relic
- A fishing spot for Rose Valley Koi
Catching the Rose Valley Koi and showing it to Sam completes one of his secret hints and rewards you with a Cupid item piece.
Another hint requires you to:
- Buy the Candle of Compassion from the pink house
- Light 8 lanterns across the map
- Use a box of chocolate at the wishing well
- Catch the Love Letter Longpike
Turn that fish in to Sam to continue the secret quest chain.
Wishing Well Rewards
The wishing well can be used once per day and offers several random rewards:
- Luck and XP buffs
- Event relics
- Rare consumables
- Special event items
Standing near the well with your duo and holding a chocolate box lets you fish for a special quest fish needed for Sam’s progression.
Love Storm Events
Love Storms are global events that spawn every 3 hours across all servers. There are three types:
- Normal
- Supercharged
- Sacred
Normal and supercharged storms disappear once caught. Sacred storms last 15 minutes and allow unlimited players to fish from them. These storms are important for quests and for obtaining the Red Blossom.
Sweet Stream Mechanics
The Sweet Stream is a moving fishing zone inside Sweetheart Shores. It travels around the area, so using a fish radar helps you track it.
Fishing in the Sweet Stream can reward:
- Pink Blossom
- Extra fish for your bestiary progress
Unlocking Cupid’s Island
To open the portal to Cupid’s Island, you need three blossoms:
- White Blossom: rare drop in Sweetheart Shores
- Red Blossom: from Love Storm events
- Pink Blossom: from the Sweet Stream
Place the blossoms on the altar near the pink house to open a timed server-wide portal. Inside, you can buy Cupid’s Bow for 25,000 chocolate, a powerful event rod with unique mutation effects.
New Event Rods and Items
The Valentides update adds several rods and special gear:
- Rose Rod with rose mutation
- Cupid’s Bow with guaranteed love mutation effects
- Valentine and Cupid Relics for special enchantments
- Multiple chocolate shop consumables

Cupid’s Embrace Rod
