Abyss Storage Guide, How to Increase Your Inventory Weight
Running out of storage is one of the biggest problems new players face in Roblox Abyss. When your inventory fills up too quickly, you spend more time returning to sell fish than actually exploring and earning money. Increasing your weight capacity early makes progression smoother and lets you stay underwater longer without interruptions. Also check out Roblox Abyss Codes for more rewards.
How Weight and Storage Work in Abyss
Your weight determines how many fish you can carry at once. You can see your current capacity in the bottom-left corner of the screen under the weight indicator. When it fills up, you must sell or store fish before you can continue collecting more.
Several systems affect your total storage:
- Your equipped tube
- Artifacts
- Your race bonus
- Portable storage stash
Improving all four areas gives the fastest results.
Upgrade Your Tube First
The fastest and easiest way to increase storage is upgrading your tube. Tubes affect multiple stats at once, including oxygen, depth, speed, and weight capacity.
If you are just starting out, go to David’s tube stall in Forgotten Deep and buy the best tube you can afford. Before purchasing, you can preview the stats to compare weight bonuses.
As you unlock new regions, stronger tubes become available. Regular tube upgrades are one of the most efficient long-term investments for both storage and survival.
Use Artifacts to Boost Storage
Artifacts provide another big storage increase. You can obtain them by cracking geodes at Verilia. After getting an artifact:
- Open your inventory
- Go to the artifacts tab
- Equip an artifact that increases storage
Some artifacts give much better weight bonuses than others, so it is worth collecting and comparing multiple options. A good artifact can noticeably extend your fishing runs.
Pick a Race That Increases Weight
Your character’s race can also improve storage. You can reroll races using star shards, which come from achievements and Abyss codes. The reroll option is available at the top of your screen. Races known for weight bonuses include:
- Monkey
- Narwhal
- Crab
- Kraken
Kraken provides one of the strongest storage advantages. Rerolling until you get a useful race can make a big difference, especially in the early and mid game.
Upgrade Your Portable Storage Stash
Portable storage lets you carry extra fish without returning to sell. Near the teleport area, find Billy, the NPC leaning against a blue storage box. Next to him is your private portable stash chest that other players cannot access.
You can pay Billy to upgrade this stash:
- 8 → 16 slots: 1,250 cash
- 16 → 24 slots: 4,750 cash
- 24 → 32 slots: 15,000 cash
- 32 → 40 slots: 50,000 cash
While the price rises quickly, these upgrades are extremely useful for long farming sessions and multi-region trips.
Best Strategy to Increase Storage Fast
For the fastest results, combine all upgrade paths instead of focusing on just one. Prioritize:
- Buying the best tube you can afford
- Equipping storage-focused artifacts
- Rerolling for a weight-boosting race
- Expanding your portable stash
Stacking these bonuses dramatically increases how long you can fish without stopping.
Improving your weight capacity is one of the smartest early investments you can make in Abyss. Bigger storage means fewer selling trips, faster money farming, and smoother exploration across dangerous regions.
By upgrading your tube, collecting the right artifacts, choosing a strong race, and expanding portable storage, you can turn short trips into long, efficient runs and progress through the game much faster.
