The newest Jujutsu Shenanigans update adds a feature many players have been waiting for: the ability to create fully custom characters that appear directly in the character selection menu. With the new Character block, you can design your own fighter, assign skills, create an special awakening, and even customize melee animations. This guide explains how to build a custom character in Jujutsu Shenanigans step by step. Also check out our Jujutsu Shenanigans Codes for more rewards!

What the Character Block Does

The Character block is the foundation of custom characters. It lets you create a new playable slot in the character menu and link it to your own skill setup. When you add a Character block, you first choose a base template.

This determines the UI layout and ability bar your character will use. After that, you assign a custom name. Once saved, your character will appear in the selection menu under that name. From here, you configure four main sections:

  • Skills
  • Special
  • Awakening
  • Melee

Each section can be edited using the standard skill builder system.

How to Create your Own Jujutsu Shenanigans Characters

1. Creating Custom Skills

Inside the Skills section, you create normal abilities for your character. You name the skill, set a cooldown, and then open the editor to design the move. This works like the regular skill builder. You can combine hitboxes, animations, visual effects, and other blocks to build any attack you want. Once saved, that move becomes part of your character’s kit. You can repeat this process to fill out your full moveset.

2. Setting Up the Special Ability

The Special slot is a stronger or more unique move tied to a separate key. You name it, assign a cooldown, and build it using the same editor. Special abilities are ideal for mobility skills, burst damage, or combo extenders. Since they often define a character’s playstyle, it helps to design them around a clear theme.

3. Designing the Awakening

The Awakening acts as your character’s ultimate. You give it a name, choose an animation, and set its duration. Duration controls how long the awakened state lasts, while delay helps sync the animation with the activation. During Awakening, you can trigger powerful effects or unique moves depending on how you design the skill.

4. Customizing Melee Attacks

The Melee section lets you assign custom animations to your basic attacks. You can create new M1 and M2 animations and pair them with hitbox blocks so they deal damage correctly. Without a hitbox, melee animations will play but won’t register damage. Adding proper hit detection ensures your character feels responsive in combat.

5. Adding an Icon and Final Setup

You can also assign an image icon to represent your character in the menu. This gives your custom fighter a distinct visual identity. After finishing all sections, select your character from the menu and test the moves in-game. You should see your melee attacks, skills, special, and awakening working according to your setup.

The Character block opens the door to full character creation in Jujutsu Shenanigans. By combining custom skills, specials, awakening abilities, and melee animations, you can design fighters that match your own style. With some experimentation in the skill builder, it becomes possible to create characters that feel unique and fully playable.
