Choosing the right team can completely change how far you can push in difficult stages. In Anime Reversal, some characters clearly stand above the rest after Update 0.5, especially with the new meta units added. This tier list ranks the best characters based on overall damage, usefulness in boss fights, and performance in long runs. The tiers are divided into Meta, Z Tier, Very Good, Usable, and Farm, focusing on how strong each unit is in real gameplay. Also check out our Anime Reversal Codes for more rewards!
All Anime Reversal Tier List
Meta Tier – Best Units in the Game
These characters dominate the current meta and are top priorities if you can obtain them.
- Kenshaw – The strongest boss killer right now. His bonus damage against bosses pushes his total damage far above most units. Since bosses are the hardest part of the game, Kenshaw’s specialization makes him arguably the best overall pick.
- Ruda – A stacking damage monster. After building up kills, Ruda reaches extremely high damage numbers with full area coverage. Even after nerfs, he remains one of the most powerful DPS units.
- Red Hair – Excellent full AoE damage with a powerful global stun skill. His crowd control and burst damage make him essential for tough waves.
- Saka – High sustained damage with strong scaling and synergy with damage-over-time effects. He also brings useful defensive traits that help in longer fights.
Z Tier – Elite and Highly Competitive Units
These units are just below Meta tier and can carry most content with the right setup.
- Hades – Strong AoE pressure with extra hits and splash damage. He fits perfectly into aggressive damage teams.
- Ice Queen – Combines damage with freezing and stun effects. Her crowd control gives teams more survivability.
- Kyuto (Order Form) – A heavy damage dealer with critical hit scaling. When optimized, he competes closely with top-tier DPS.
- Rio – Flexible hybrid unit with multiple placements and strong execution damage against low-health enemies.
Very Good Tier – Strong and Reliable Picks
These characters are effective in many situations but are slightly outclassed by higher tiers.
- Boti – Burst-focused damage dealer that scales well over time.
- Amy Curse – Instantly defeats low-health enemies, which becomes more valuable in harder future content.
- Sun Jin Wu – Good scaling and double-hit potential, but slower to reach full strength.
- Kyuto (Duel Form) – Decent DPS with attack speed stacking, though less explosive than the Order version.
- Igras – Solid overall unit, especially when paired with synergistic teammates.
Usable Tier – Early to Mid-Game Options
These units are fine for progression but usually get replaced later.
- Chine – Boss-focused bonuses and consistent crits make her a decent starter DPS.
- Endro Gordon – Helpful early unit with wave scaling, but awkward cooldown mechanics.
- Firefist Captain – Burn-based damage that works early on but falls off later.
- Goku – Situational air-focused damage that struggles in most maps.
- Black – A support pick with strong slowing effects that can still help certain strategies.
Farm Tier
- Speed Cart – The dedicated farming unit. Essential for economy, but not a combat carry.
The current Update 0.5 meta strongly favors high burst DPS and boss-focused damage. Units like Kenshaw and Ruda define the top end of play, while strong control options such as Ice Queen add consistency to difficult runs. Early-game characters remain useful for progression, but investing in Meta or Z Tier units gives the biggest long-term advantage. As more updates arrive, balance changes could shift rankings, but for now this tier list reflects the strongest performers for both farming and endgame challenges.
