Talismans add another layer of progression that rewards players who like slow, steady upgrades. These items function as passive gear that sit in your inventory and provide bonuses under certain conditions. Since they are tied to a special merchant and a set of challenges, unlocking them takes some effort, but the payoff can make your runs more efficient over time. What Are Talismans in Sol’s RNG?
Talismans were introduced in the Eon 1.16 update as pocket equipment that grants passive effects. You don’t need to actively equip or use them during gameplay. As long as they are in your inventory, their bonuses can trigger automatically when their conditions are met.
Their role is similar to the lantern system from earlier updates. Instead of changing your main build, talismans quietly enhance your stats in the background. Depending on the item, they can improve things like luck, soul gain, or roll speed. The catch is that each talisman only activates when specific requirements are satisfied.
How to Unlock Talismans
The only way to obtain talismans right now is through a wandering merchant named Ren. She appears randomly in the overworld, so players need to explore and keep an lookout whenever she spawns. Buying from her shop isn’t instant. Before you can purchase anything, you must clear her special trials:
- Find Ren somewhere in the overworld.
- Talk to her and select the yellow trial option.
- Complete the assigned challenge to unlock a talisman.
- Repeat the process to unlock more items.
There are six trials in total. Each finished trial unlocks one talisman for purchase. After unlocking an item, you can buy it with coins, and stronger talismans usually come with higher prices.
List of Available Talismans
At the moment, Ren’s shop focuses entirely on talismans. The currently known options include:
- Sunstone Talisman
- Moonstone Talisman
- Day and Night Talisman
- Overtime Talisman
- Soul Collector’s Talisman
Each one offers a different conditional bonus. Some favor daytime or nighttime play, while others improve resource gain or efficiency. Since Ren’s inventory is dedicated to these passive items, future updates may expand her selection with more talismans.
Why Talismans Are Worth Farming
Talismans are designed for players who want reliable long-term boosts. Even though each bonus may look small on its own, stacking several passive effects can noticeably speed up progress. Completing Ren’s trials unlocks permanent access to these upgrades, making them a solid investment for regular players.
If you’re aiming to improve your overall efficiency without rebuilding your character, focusing on Ren’s challenges and collecting talismans is a practical path. Over time, these passive boosts can make grinding smoother and more rewarding in Sol’s RNG.
