All Dive Down Mutations Guide Multipliers & How to Get Them!
If you’ve noticed certain fish earning more money per second or selling for a much higher price, you’re probably looking at mutated fish. In Dive Down, mutations increase both passive income and sell value, making them extremely valuable for progression and aquarium collectors. There are two main mutation types in Dive Down: Ocean Mutations and Weather Mutations. Each works differently, and understanding both systems is key if you want to maximize profit. What Are Mutations in Dive Down?
Mutations are special variants of normal fish. When a fish mutates:
- It earns more money per second
- It sells for a higher price
- It has a unique visual appearance
Ocean mutations occur naturally while diving. Weather mutations, however, are applied inside your aquarium during special weather events.
All Ocean Mutations in Dive Down

Ocean mutations can appear randomly in any diving area. When you encounter one, the mutation name will appear above the fish. Currently, there are three Ocean mutations:
1. Silver Mutation
- Multiplier: 2.4x earnings and sale value
- How to Get It: Silver fish spawn randomly in any ocean biome.
How to Identify It:
- Completely silver body
- “Silver” text above the fish
Silver is the most common Ocean mutation but still very valuable for early and mid-game profit.
2. Gold Mutation
- Multiplier: 2.7x earnings and sale value
- How to Get It: Random spawn chance in all ocean zones.
How to Identify It:
- Bright yellow/golden appearance
- “Gold” text above the fish
Gold mutations are rarer than Silver and significantly boost your income.
3. Rainbow Mutation
- Multiplier: 3.0x earnings and sale value
- How to Get It: Random chance in any biome while diving.
How to Identify It:
- Color constantly shifts between red, yellow, green, pink, and blue
- “Rainbow” text above the fish
Rainbow is currently the highest Ocean mutation multiplier and extremely valuable if found on high-rarity fish.
All Weather Mutations in Dive Down
Weather mutations work differently. Instead of spawning in the ocean, they are applied to fish already inside your aquarium during special weather events. Weather events last up to three minutes and occur randomly. You can also activate specific weather using the weather machine located on bridges, but this requires Robux. Here are all Weather mutations:
1. Frozen Mutation
- Multiplier: 1.5x earnings and sale value
- How to Get It: Triggered during Snow weather.
Appearance:
- Blue tint
- Fish appears trapped inside ice
- “Frozen” tag in aquarium menu
This is the lowest Weather multiplier but still useful for boosting passive income.
2. Shocked Mutation
- Multiplier: 1.9x earnings and sale value
- How to Get It: Triggered during Storm weather.
Appearance:
- Pink electrical aura
- “Shocked” label in aquarium
A solid mid-tier Weather mutation for profit increases.
3. Chocolate Mutation
- Multiplier: 2.2x earnings and sale value
- How to Get It: Triggered during Chocolate Rain weather.
Appearance:
- Dark brown coloration
- “Chocolate” label in aquarium
Chocolate currently provides the highest Weather mutation multiplier.
Ocean vs Weather Mutations – Which Is Better?
Ocean mutations generally offer higher multipliers, especially Rainbow (3.0x). However, Weather mutations can be stacked across multiple fish in your aquarium at once during events. For pure sale value farming, Ocean mutations on high-rarity fish are stronger. For passive aquarium income, Weather mutations can scale very well.
Tips to Get More Mutations
- Dive frequently in deeper biomes to increase chances of finding high-value mutated fish.
- Prioritize catching mutated Legendary, Mythical, Secret, or Divine fish.
- Keep an eye on weather announcements and prepare your aquarium before events start.
- Consider activating weather manually if you are focused on mutation farming.
Mutations are one of the most important mechanics for maximizing income in Dive Down. Whether you are hunting Rainbow ocean fish or trying to trigger Chocolate weather in your aquarium, understanding how each mutation works will significantly boost your progress. If your goal is faster money and stronger long-term scaling, mutated fish should always be your priority.
