Tracking down specific fish in Dive Down can feel frustrating, especially since the in-game index does not show where each fish spawns. Instead of wasting oxygen and time searching randomly, this complete bestiary guide breaks down every biome, rarity tier, and Secret spawn location so you can dive directly to the right depth. In Dive Down, progression is tied heavily to depth. The deeper you go, the rarer the fish become. Let’s go zone by zone. Also check out our Dive Down Codes for more rewards!

All Fish in Dive Down – Rarities & Spawn Areas

There are currently seven ocean biomes, each with its own depth range and fish pool. Early zones contain Common to Epic fish, while deeper areas introduce Legendary, Mythical, Secret, and Divine rarities.

Sunlight Zone (0m – 30m)

This is the starter area and perfect for early-game money farming.

  • Goldfish – Common
  • Butterflyfish – Rare
  • Piranha – Rare
  • Pufferfish – Epic
  • Koi Fish – Epic
  • Stingray – Epic

Focus here when you are just starting and building basic gear.

Coral Reef (30m – 70m)

The second biome introduces stronger fish and your first Legendaries.

  • Clownfish – Rare
  • Blue Tang – Rare
  • Lionfish – Rare
  • Seahorse – Epic
  • Betta Fish – Epic
  • Turtle – Legendary
  • Shark – Legendary

Turtle and Shark are solid early profit targets.

Twilight Zone (71m – 165m)

This is where Mythical fish first appear.

  • Bass – Epic
  • Salmon – Epic
  • Catfish – Epic
  • Swordfish – Epic
  • Eel – Legendary
  • Seal – Legendary
  • Jellyfish – Mythical

Jellyfish has low spawn rates but strong value.

Deep Ocean (165m – 280m)

One of the largest zones and a major mid-game farming area.

  • Mahi-Mahi – Epic
  • Parrotfish – Epic
  • Sunfish – Legendary
  • Tuna – Legendary
  • Squid – Legendary
  • Hammerhead – Mythical
  • Narwhale – Mythical

Hammerhead is required for certain progression milestones like Rebirth 2.

The Deep Dark (281m – 560m)

The largest biome in the game. You will need strong tanks and added weight to reach this safely.

  • Shrimp – Epic
  • Rockfish – Legendary
  • Slickhead Fish – Legendary
  • Gulper Eel – Mythical
  • Blobfish – Mythical
  • Anglerfish – Mythical
  • Whale – Secret

This is the first zone where Secret rarity appears.

The Trenches (560m – 670m)

Late-game biome focused on high-rarity farming.

  • Macropinna – Legendary
  • Telescopefish – Legendary
  • Spinyfish – Legendary
  • Fangtooth – Legendary
  • Hatchetfish – Mythical
  • Lizardfish – Mythical
  • Snailfish – Mythical
  • Whalefish – Secret

If you are farming Legendaries and Mythicals efficiently, this is a strong location.

Atlantis (670m+)

The final biome and the best area for Secret hunting.

  • Crabfish – Legendary
  • Cloudfish – Mythical
  • Polkafish – Mythical
  • Peeber – Secret
  • Rubyfish – Secret
  • Pebblefish – Secret
  • Mermaid – Divine

Atlantis is currently the only place where Divine rarity (Mermaid) can spawn.

All Secret Fish & Spawn Locations

Secret fish are the second-highest rarity, just below Divine. Their spawn rate is extremely low, and when one appears, the game announces it globally—but without showing the location. Here are the exact spawn zones:

  • Whale – Deep Dark only
  • Whalefish – Trenches only
  • Peeber – Atlantis only
  • Rubyfish – Atlantis only
  • Pebblefish – Atlantis only

When you see the announcement, immediately dive to the correct biome.

Tips for Catching Secret Fish

Since Secret spawns are rare, reaction speed matters.

1. Stay Near Deep Biomes If you are actively hunting Secrets, stay in Deep Dark, Trenches, or Atlantis instead of shallow zones.

2. Upgrade Your Tank & Weights You must survive deep depths long enough to locate the fish.

3. Watch Announcements Closely The moment a Secret is announced, head directly to its spawn zone.

4. Avoid Wasting Time Searching Wrong Areas Use the spawn table above. Secrets never spawn outside their listed biome.

Dive Down rewards preparation and knowledge of spawn zones. Instead of wandering randomly, use this bestiary to target specific fish by biome and depth. Whether you are farming early Epics or hunting Divine Mermaid in Atlantis, knowing where to dive saves time and increases profits. If you are aiming for Secrets, stay ready, upgrade your gear, and move fast when announcements appear.
