What Is 99 Nights in the Forest?
99 Nights in the Forest is a survival-style experience on Roblox where players must keep a campfire alive for 99 nights. You gather wood, manage resources, survive invasions, and deal with random world events. With the new update, players can now influence those events directly using Modifier Flames.
All Flame Types & Their Effects

Here are the current event flames and what they do:
1. Frog Flame
Effect: Guarantees the Frog Invasion event on Day 3.
If you want a frog-based event early in your run, this flame ensures it happens without relying on RNG.
2. Alien Flame
Effect: Guarantees the Alien Invasion (Mothership) on Night 3.
This is one of the most popular choices since alien events can provide unique drops and intense gameplay moments.
3. Halloween Carnival Flame
Effect: Guarantees the Halloween Carnival arrives on Night 3.
Perfect for players farming carnival-related rewards or seasonal items.
4. Meteor Flame
Effect: Guarantees a Meteor Shower event on Night 3.
Meteor events can change terrain and provide rare materials depending on your strategy.
5. Blue Flame
Effect: Rain reduces the campfire at a slower rate.
Unlike the others, this is not an event trigger. It acts as a defensive modifier, helping your fire survive bad weather longer.
How to Use Modifier Flames (Important Steps)
The update changed how flames are activated. You can no longer equip them in the lobby. Follow these steps carefully:
Step 1 – Build a Supply Crate
Go to the Crafting Bench and build a Supply Crate. Cost: 3 Wood. This crate allows you to access your stored flames.
Step 2 – Select a Flame
Open the Supply Crate and choose the flame you want to use for that run.
Step 3 – Place the Flame in the Campfire FIRST
This is extremely important: You must place the selected flame into the campfire before adding any fuel. That means:
- No wood
- No coal
- No fuel at all
If fuel is added first, the flame effect will not activate.
The Modifier Flames update adds more strategy to 99 Nights in the Forest. Instead of relying on luck, you can now plan your run around guaranteed events. Just remember the most important rule: insert the flame before adding fuel. If you use the system correctly, you can shape your survival run exactly the way you want and prepare your team for what’s coming on Night 3.
