Anime Guardians Guide, How to Obtain Ainz & Rimuru!

The latest Anime Guardians update brings three new units inspired by popular anime characters: Kaneki, Ainz, and Rimuru. But for most players, the real targets are Ainz and Rimuru. The good news? This is easily one of the simplest updates to grind — and you don’t need to spend Robux to get them. If you want to unlock Ainz and Rimuru the free way, here’s the complete step-by-step guide. Where to Get Ainz & Rimuru

Both units are available through the new event portal added in this update. After entering the portal, you will load into a special event stage where:

  • You vote for a team (Ainz or Rimuru side).
  • Clear waves and defeat bosses.
  • Farm event materials needed for evolution.

You can select Super Fast Wave mode to speed up farming if your team is strong enough.

How to Obtain Ainz

Step 1: Enter the Event Portal

Go into the new event mode and select Ainz’s team.

Step 2: Clear the Stage

Progress through waves and defeat the event boss. The stage is surprisingly manageable compared to previous updates. Ainz has around a 30% drop rate when playing his team. Many players are reporting that the drop feels generous, and in some cases, you may get him very quickly.

How to Evolve Ainz

After obtaining Ainz, you need event materials to evolve him. The key evolution material is:

  • Lord Staff

You can farm this item directly from the same event stage. One full run (around 15–20 minutes) is often enough to gather multiple required materials. Some players even report getting large amounts in a single clear. Once you collect the required items:

  1. Go to Units.
  2. Select Ainz.
  3. Evolve him to the Overlord version.
  4. Complete the final evolution into the event version.

The entire process can be completed in under an hour if your runs are efficient.

How to Obtain Rimuru

Rimuru is obtained through the same event portal. Steps:

  1. Enter the event mode.
  2. Select Rimuru’s team.
  3. Clear waves and defeat bosses.
  4. Farm required materials for evolution.

Just like Ainz, Rimuru materials drop from the event stage. Grinding one or two runs is often enough to complete the evolution. This makes Rimuru one of the easiest high-tier units to obtain in recent updates.

Ainz Showcase – Is He Worth It?

Ainz is easily the standout unit of this update.

Stats (Maxed Example)

  • Around 8 million damage
  • 1 second SPA
  • Strong visual effects

Key Strengths:

  • Freezes and resets enemies to spawn
  • Strong stun abilities
  • Summons Dark Young units that deal % max HP damage
  • Gains massive scaling through Yen stacking system
  • Multiple passives that boost attack and army effects

Ainz scales extremely hard in longer stages. His % HP damage and army-based mechanics make him one of the strongest late-game units right now. For most players, he feels like a must-have.

Rimuru Showcase – Is He Good?

Rimuru is also strong, especially due to:

  • Full AoE damage
  • 10+ million damage at max
  • Stun + global damage abilities
  • % max HP scaling through passive stacks
  • Cannot be stunned

He performs well in wave clearing and boss fights, though many players believe Ainz has higher overall impact. Still, Rimuru is very strong for a unit that can be farmed easily.

Is This Update Really That Easy?

Yes. Compared to previous Anime Guardians updates that required heavy Robux spending, this event allows you to:

  • Grind both Ainz and Rimuru
  • Evolve them quickly
  • Complete everything in under an hour with strong units

No bundles required. No heavy spending needed.

This Anime Guardians update is one of the most accessible updates so far. Both Ainz and Rimuru can be obtained through simple event grinding, and their performance makes the effort worth it. If you are choosing one priority, Ainz stands out as the stronger long-term investment due to his scaling mechanics and % HP damage. But honestly, since the grind is so light this time, there’s no reason not to get both.
