Terror Realm is a brand-new asymmetric multiplayer game that recently opened a short public test. The game quickly caught attention because it mixes chaotic gameplay, unique characters, and fast-paced chases that feel similar to other popular survival titles in the same genre.
In this game, players are split into two sides. One player becomes the Anomaly, acting as the killer, while the others play as Convicts, the survivors trying to stay alive. Each match can feel unpredictable because every character has different abilities, and many mechanics are not immediately obvious for new players.
If you jump into Terror Realm for the first time, it can feel confusing. There are visual effects everywhere, abilities triggering constantly, and it is not always clear what your role should be. Also check out our Terror Realm Tier List for new players.
Understanding the Game Objective
The main goal in Terror Realm depends on which side you are playing.
Convicts (Survivors)
If you are playing as a Convict, your job is simple: stay alive and avoid the Anomaly. Survivors must work together, use their abilities wisely, and support teammates during chases. Many Convicts have tools that can slow down, stun, or distract the killer. Some characters also provide healing or team buffs that make survival easier.
Anomalies (Killers)
The Anomaly is the hunter. Your job is to track down survivors and eliminate them before they escape or outlast you. Each killer has unique mechanics such as dashes, traps, hallucinations, or tracking abilities that help locate survivors.
All Current Characters in Terror Realm
During the current test, the game includes four Convicts and three Anomalies.

Each survivor plays differently. Some are easier for beginners, while others require more skill.

4 Beginner-Friendly Survivor Characters
Some Convicts are much easier to use if you are just starting the game.
1. Rocketeer
Rocketeer is one of the simplest and most fun characters for beginners. This survivor has access to powerful tools like a rocket launcher and bomb traps that can stun or slow the killer. The rocket travels quickly and can interrupt the killer during a chase. Because of the strong stun potential, Rocketeer is great for helping teammates escape dangerous situations.
2. Bloom
Bloom is the main healer in the game. This character can send healing orbs to teammates and restore health during fights. Bloom can also use vine-based abilities to slow the killer and support allies. If you enjoy playing support roles, Bloom is a solid choice.
Some Convicts require more understanding of the game.
3. Hando
Hando focuses on aggressive plays and close encounters with the killer. The character can rush forward, carry teammates away from danger, and even punch the killer if the timing is correct. However, abilities depend on a special meter, which can confuse new players at first.
4. Community
Community is one of the most complicated survivors in Terror Realm. This character uses a rating system that improves abilities if the player performs well during matches. Staying in chases, landing skills, and helping teammates increases the rating. Higher ratings reduce cooldowns and increase maximum health, but mistakes will lower the rating again.
Important Beginner Tips
If you are new to Terror Realm, these tips can help you survive longer.
1. Learn Your Abilities First
Many players jump into matches without reading their character abilities. This often leads to confusion during fights. Spend a moment in the lobby reading your skills so you understand what each button does.
2. Stay Near Teammates
Running alone is risky, especially against strong killers. Staying near teammates allows you to receive healing, buffs, or protection when the killer appears. Team coordination makes survival much easier.
3. Use Stuns Carefully
Characters like Rocketeer can stun the killer, but using these abilities randomly can waste them. Try to save stuns for moments when the killer is chasing a teammate or about to attack.
4. Watch the Killer’s Abilities
Some killers have special mechanics like traps, dashes, or illusions. Learning these patterns will help you avoid damage and escape more often. For example, some killers leave visual effects or sounds when they are about to attack.
5. Use Items When Necessary
You may find items like first aid kits during matches. These can save your life if you are low on health and no healer is nearby.
Terror Realm may look chaotic at first, but once you understand the basic mechanics, the game becomes much easier to enjoy. Each match is full of fast chases, unexpected abilities, and intense moments between survivors and killers. For beginners, starting with characters like Rocketeer or Bloom can make learning the game much smoother.
As you gain more experience, you can try more advanced Convicts like Hando or Community. Since the game is still in early testing, more characters, maps, and balance changes will likely appear in future updates. Learning the fundamentals now will help you adapt quickly as the game continues to grow.
