Anime Rangers X Re Release Tier List, Best Units to Use!
Anime Rangers X has finally returned, and many players are already jumping back into the game to test the new balance changes and units available in the re-release. With the first update already out, the early meta is starting to become clear, especially for players who want to progress quickly through stages, events, and other modes.
Because the roster is still relatively small, some characters clearly stand out while others struggle to compete due to weak passives, high costs, or limited utility. Some units focus purely on damage, while others provide support buffs that help your entire team perform better. Knowing which ones are worth investing resources in can make progression much easier. Anime Rangers X Tier List (Update 1)

To keep things simple, the units are grouped into four categories:
- Meta Tier – The strongest units currently dominating the game
- S Tier – Very strong units that perform well in most modes
- B Tier – Decent units that can work but are not top choices
- C Tier – Weak or inefficient units that are usually not worth using
- Support Tier – Units mainly used for buffs or utility
Meta Tier Units
Etto (Best Unit in the Game)
Etto is widely considered the strongest unit in Anime Rangers X right now. She has extremely high damage, strong range, and powerful abilities that allow her to dominate most stages without much difficulty. One of her biggest advantages is survivability. She has a mechanic that allows her to revive herself, meaning she can continue fighting even after taking fatal damage.
Combined with her strong attack speed and damage output, she easily becomes the centerpiece of many team compositions. Even after several adjustments in previous versions of the game, Etto still remains one of the most powerful characters available.
S Tier Units
Saber
Saber is one of the best rusher units in the game. Her biggest strength is speed. She can clear stages extremely fast thanks to her quick attacks and high damage output. Players who want faster clear times often rely on Saber because she helps complete stages in under a minute, especially in certain events or story missions. Even though her ability might not look very impressive at first, her overall damage and speed make up for it.
Leaf Ninja
Another strong rusher unit is the Leaf Ninja character. Similar to Saber, this unit focuses on fast clears and high survivability. The key advantage here is the ability to build a very high dodge rate using gear. Because of this, many players prefer using the non-evolved version of the unit since it benefits more from dodge builds. When combined with Saber, these two units can clear certain stages extremely quickly.
Black Mask
Black Mask is a powerful DPS unit that becomes even stronger when combined with other related characters. His damage scaling allows him to deal impressive damage during longer fights, making him useful in harder stages where sustained damage is important.
Black Reaper
Black Reaper works extremely well with Black Mask thanks to his passive ability. After building memory stacks, Black Reaper grants a permanent 50% damage increase to all deployed Black Mask units. On top of that, Black Mask also gains additional damage and healing per attack. When both units are used together, the damage output can become extremely high.
B Tier Units
Moa
Moa is a Legend Stage unit, meaning it has slightly better stats compared to some normal characters. However, the overall performance is still fairly average. While Moa can work in early progression, it does not offer enough power to compete with top-tier units.
Virtual Swordswoman
Virtual Swordswoman is mainly used because of the synergy she provides with another character called Kyito. Her ability grants additional critical chance and buffs, making her more useful when paired with the correct team setup. Without that synergy, her overall value is much lower.
Kyito
Kyito is considered a decent unit but not one of the strongest options. However, when paired with Virtual Swordswoman, the combination becomes more effective. Because of this potential synergy, Kyito usually sits in the middle tier rather than the bottom.
C Tier Units
Crow
Even though Crow is a mythic unit, the performance is disappointing. The character mainly relies on bleed damage but has weak stats and a relatively high cost. Because of this, many players choose other units instead.
Void Mask
Void Mask is one of the most expensive units in the game but unfortunately does not provide enough value. His ability only has around a 5% chance to instantly defeat an enemy, which is extremely unreliable. Since the unit also costs a lot to deploy, it rarely feels worth using.
Broly
Broly has a passive that increases his range after each kill. While this mechanic can be useful, the unit is simply too expensive compared to other options. As a result, most players prefer units that provide stronger effects or higher damage.
Stitchblade Reaper
This character mainly focuses on bleed damage, which used to be extremely strong in the old meta. However, in the current version of the game, bleed teams are not as dominant. This may change in future updates if more bleed-focused units are added.
Shanks
Shanks has a chance to stun enemies, but the stun rate is very low. On top of that, his overall damage output is not high enough to make up for the unreliable ability. Because of this, he ends up falling into the lower tier.
Molten Phantom
Molten Phantom has a niche ability that slows the strongest enemies on the map when using a skill. While this sounds useful, the effect is too situational and the unit is quite expensive. Most players will find better options in other tiers.
Support Tier Units
Umbrella Fang
Umbrella Fang is one of the more useful support characters available right now. His ability increases the damage enemies take by 10%, which may not seem like a lot at first. However, when combined with high damage units like Etto, the boost becomes much more noticeable. If you manage to get duplicates of this unit, the support value becomes even stronger.
Killer Candy
Killer Candy also falls into the support category but is not nearly as strong as Umbrella Fang. The unit mainly provides bleed effects, which are currently not very impactful.
The current Anime Rangers X Re Release meta is still developing, but a few units have already proven to be much stronger than others. Characters like Etto, Saber, and Black Reaper combinations dominate most team setups thanks to their damage output and strong abilities.
At the same time, several units struggle due to weak passives, high deployment costs, or unreliable mechanics. Because of that, building your team around the strongest characters will make progression through story stages and events significantly easier.
As the game receives more updates, new units and balance changes could shift the meta. For now, focusing on the top-tier damage dealers and useful support units will give players the best chance of clearing content efficiently in Anime Rangers X.
