Crafting plays a major role in Pokémon Pokopia and becomes one of the most useful systems throughout the entire game. Early on, players learn how to create simple items, but as progress continues, crafting expands into something much bigger. You will eventually be able to build furniture, decorations, toys, and even full building structures for your islands.

Besides improving the appearance of your island, crafting also helps complete quests, fulfill requests from your Pokémon companions, and increase their comfort level. Many players spend a lot of time customizing their habitats to make them feel more alive and suitable for different Pokémon. This guide explains how the crafting system works in Pokopia, how to unlock new recipes, where to find materials, and the different types of recipes available in the game.

What is Crafting in Pokémon Pokopia?

Crafting in Pokopia allows players to combine different materials in order to create items. Every craftable item requires two things: a recipe and the required materials. At the beginning of the game, only a small number of recipes are available.

As you continue playing, explore new islands, collect materials, and interact with Pokémon, you will slowly unlock hundreds of new crafting recipes. Because materials are common and scattered across the map, crafting becomes something you will constantly use while building and expanding your island.

How to Craft Items in Pokopia

To start crafting, you need to interact with a Workbench. Workbenches can be found across multiple islands in the game, and one of the first ones appears very close to the starting area. Later on, players can also craft additional workbenches if they want to place them near their homes or construction areas. Once you interact with a workbench, you can select recipes and craft items using materials from:

  • Your backpack inventory
  • Storage boxes placed next to the workbench

If the required materials are missing, the recipe will appear greyed out, but you can still check the materials needed. Players can also sort crafting recipes in several ways:

  • By category
  • Alphabetically
  • By usage
  • By the order they were unlocked

You can also browse categories using the L and R buttons to quickly switch between different recipe groups.
